Jindal Power Limited is looking for an experienced Shift Chemist to join its Chemistry & Environment (C&E;) team at Jhajjar, Haryana.
The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and controlling plant chemistry parameters, ensuring effective operation of water treatment systems, boiler and steam cycle chemistry, cooling water chemistry, and supporting reliable and safe plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control critical chemistry parameters of boiler, steam cycle, feed water, condensate and cooling water systems.
- Ensure effective operation and monitoring of WTP, DM Plant, RO Plant, filtration systems and chemical treatment processes.
- Monitor cooling tower and circulating water chemistry and optimize chemical dosing for corrosion, scaling and microbiological control.
- Conduct and supervise laboratory analysis of water, steam, coal, ash, oil and other plant samples.
- Analyse chemistry trends, identify deviations and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, safety and statutory requirements.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, dosing and usage of chemicals as per approved procedures.
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance and other departments for smooth execution of chemistry-related activities.
- Maintain shift reports, daily chemistry reports and management summaries with accurate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NABL accreditation requirements, laboratory management systems, testing, calibration and audit requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in chemistry control, laboratory practices,
chemical consumption and overall plant reliability.
- Handle chemistry-related emergencies and support effective shift operations.

Candidate Profile
- B.Sc. in Chemistry: Minimum 12 years of relevant industrial experience OR
- M.Sc. in Chemistry: 810 years of relevant experience.
- Candidates with experience in Supercritical Thermal Power Plants will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of plant chemistry, water treatment systems and laboratory operations.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
- Solid commitment towards safety, environmental compliance and operational discipline.
