Key Responsibilities
- Customer and Field Support
Provide in office and remote technical support for EV chargers and associated charging systems.
Attend customer complaints promptly, establish immediate containment, and drive issues to technical closure within the committed turnaround time.
Act as the technical point of contact for customer escalations and communicate findings, corrective action,
and preventive recommendations clearly.
Coordinate site visits, customer access, service tools, spares, and replacement units to ensure efficient issue resolution.
Provide basic operational, installation, and troubleshooting training to customers, service partners, and field technicians.
Follow applicable electrical safety and EHS practices during installation, testing, repair, and site visits.
- Installation and Commissioning
Support installation, commissioning, configuration, and functional validation of chargers at customer locations.
Verify input supply, earthing, protection devices, cable routing, connectors, communication interfaces, and charger-to-battery compatibility before commissioning.
Document commissioning results, site observations, deviations, and customer acceptance.
- Troubleshooting, Repair and Validation
Diagnose electrical, electronic, communication, thermal, and performance-related failures reported from the field.
Inspect and troubleshoot returned chargers using structured fault-isolation methods and appropriate test equipment.
Carry out approved repairs, component replacement, wiring correction, or software and configuration updates as required.
Validate repaired chargers under appropriate load and operating conditions before customer dispatch or reinstallation.
Identify and document "no fault found" cases, including installation, battery, vehicle, usage, or environmental causes.
Maintain traceability of serial numbers, failure symptoms, root causes, repairs, replaced parts, and final validation results.
- Root-Cause Analysis and Product Improvement
Perform structured Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Analysis (FA) for field returns and major customer complaints.
Prepare RCA, 8D, and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) reports for recurring or critical failures.
Analyze field-failure trends and identify repeat, systemic,
or supplier-related issues.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, R&D;, Purchase, and suppliers to implement containment, corrective action, and preventive action.
Provide field feedback for design, process, component, firmware, test, and workmanship improvements.
Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and monitor recurrence after implementation.
- Warranty, Spares and Service Operations
Track warranty claims, repair status, replacements, service closure, and customer communication.
Maintain a structured complaint tracker and service database with accurate and timely updates.
Monitor response time, repair turnaround time, first-time-fix rate, repeat-failure rate, and complaint ageing.
Coordinate spare-parts planning, inventory, consumption, replenishment, and replacement management.
Ensure returned chargers and defective parts are correctly identified, stored, and controlled for analysis or supplier return.
Support warranty-cost analysis and initiatives to reduce service and failure-related costs.
- Documentation and Training
Prepare service reports, failure-trend analysis, and weekly or monthly KPI summaries.
Develop and maintain service SOPs, troubleshooting guides, installation and commissioning checklists, repair procedures, and validation records.
Create customer-facing technical advisories and frequently asked questions for common issues.
Train internal service personnel, customer teams, and field technicians on charger operation, safety,
installation, and troubleshooting.
