Job Title: Head Insurance Underwriter (Commercial Lines ) Accurate Risk Managers & Insurance Brokers Department: Underwriting / General Insurance Reporting To: – Director

Location: Kothrud Job Purpose :

To evaluate, assess, and underwrite insurance proposals within the assigned line of business ( Commercial Lines – Fire , Marine , Engineering , Liability , Financial lines & Motor ), ensuring profitability, compliance with underwriting guidelines, and support to sales and servicing teams. Key Responsibilities :-

- Analyse insurance proposals and assess risk based on underwriting guidelines.
- Prepare underwriting reports, quotations, and technical evaluations.
- Liaise with insurance companies for quotations, negotiations, and policy terms.
- Support the sales team with technical inputs for recent business and renewals.
- Manage renewals including pricing, negotiations, and timely closures.
- Coordinate with internal teams and insurers for policy issuance and endorsements.
- Maintain proper documentation and underwriting records.
- Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations and company policies.

Commercial Lines





- ❖ Underwrite policies such as Fire, Marine, Liability, Engineering, etc

.❖ Assess risk based on property, business operations, and exposure ❖ Review technical documents (valuation reports, risk inspections, etc.)

❖ Support risk improvement and loss prevention recommendations *Key Skills & Competencies :-

- Understanding of the assigned insurance line ( Commercial Line)
- Analytical and risk assessment skills • Negotiation and communication skills
- MS Excel proficiency
- Attention to detail and time management *Qualification & Experience :
- • Graduate / Postgraduate in Insurance, Finance, or related field • 1–5 years of experience in underwriting
- Knowledge of IRDAI regulations • Insurance certifications (Licentiate / Associate – III / IIB) preferred • Freshers can be considered for trainee roles *KPIs :
