Job Requirements About the Role
As a State Manager – Risk, you will lead and manage all Risk Control Unit (RCU) activities across the assigned state. This role involves overseeing fraud control, field verifications, investigations, and ensuring compliance with risk protocols. You will play a critical role in safeguarding the bank’s operations and supporting business teams in mitigating risk.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Managing the product assigned & team in the state/s to ensure that RCU activities like screening/ sampling, hunter reviews, onboarding checks, dispute examination etc. are being carried out in a uniform manner.
- Assigning activities within the team and managing workloads to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Analyzing trends, and initiating necessary action based on facts & finding to set deterrence.
- Implement fraud control measures to minimize losses.
- Effective management of RCU function and activities of assigned product in state/s.
- Data management and analysis of critical MIS reports.
- Assessing risk while performing control activities and initiating enhancement in processes and systems.
- Ensuring deterrence based on investigation findings through concern stake holders.
- Coordination with vendors to achieve expected TAT and effectiveness.
- Ensuring timely reporting of incidents to senior management and regulators.
- Assessing veracity of facts gathered during the investigations, assimilation of information and report formulation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge across domains of products handled.
- Understand prevailing fraud risks in the market and ensure implementation of prevention measures.
- Training team members on emerging trends, best practices and product level policies and procedures.
- Developing and updating review mechanisms of investigations within the team
- Highlighting process improvements/ policy changes to seniors based on grey areas identified during RCU activities like screening/ sampling /Hunter checks/dispute investigations etc.
- Ensuring deterrence based on investigation findings through concern stake holders.
- Coordination with vendors to achieve expected TAT and effectiveness.
- Addressing tactical situation at the branches and ensuring no impact on Bank’s reputation.
- Remain engaged with appropriate stakeholders (internal/external) for thwarting losses before on-boarding customers/affiliates into the company and ensuring timely remedial actions and escalation of situations that pose other significant risk/s.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to deliver best-in-class products and services to customers
What We Are Looking For
Education
- Graduate/Postgraduate in any relevant stream
Experience
- Proven experience in risk management, fraud control, or related functions
- Prior experience in managing teams and external agencies is preferred
Skills and Attributes
