Job Title: Senior Backend Developer Java / Spring Boot / AWS Cloud

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Java Backend Developer to join our core engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant, scalable microservices hosted on AWS.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Frontend, DevOps) to translate complex business requirements into robust, cloud-native backend architectures.

Key Responsibilities

- Architecture & Development: Design, build, and deploy high-throughput, low-latency microservices and RESTful APIs using Java (17+) and Spring Boot.
- Cloud Architecture: Leverage modern AWS cloud-native services to build scalable systems, handling everything from application hosting to serverless event processing.
- Database Management: Write optimized queries and design schemas for relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB/MongoDB).
- System Design & Patterns: Implement domain-driven design, design patterns, and event-driven architecture utilizing message brokers like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS.
- CI/CD & Automation: Collaborate with DevOps to containerize applications (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS) and maintain automated continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Quality & Performance: Ensure high code quality through Unit Testing (JUnit, Mockito), integration tests, TDD practices, and continuous performance tuning/profiling.
- Security & Reliability: Implement robust authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT, Spring Security) and build fault-tolerant systems using resiliency patterns (Circuit Breaker, Rate Limiting).

Requirements & Technical Qualifications Must-Have Skills

- Core Tech:



4+ years of hands-on experience in Core Java (Java 11/17/21), Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Design Patterns.
- Frameworks: Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, and Spring Security.
- Microservices Architecture: Proven experience building distributed systems, service discovery, API Gateways, resilience strategies, and RESTful APIs.
- AWS Cloud Experience: Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services, including:
- Compute & Serverless: EC2, ECS/EKS, AWS Lambda
- Storage & DB: S3, RDS, DynamoDB
- Messaging/Events: SQS, SNS, EventBridge
- Databases: Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and caching mechanisms (Redis).
- Messaging Systems: Experience with asynchronous message brokers (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS).
- Build & Version Control: Git, Maven/Gradle, and experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline).

Nice-to-Have Skills

- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, Datadog).
- Exposure to reactive programming (Spring WebFlux).
- AWS Certified Developer or AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification.

Soft Skills

- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical designs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment with continuous iterative releases.
