Job Title: Senior Site Engineer (Foot Over Bridge – FOB)

Job Summary The Site Engineer – Foot Over Bridge (FOB) will be responsible for supervising and executing civil construction activities related to FOB structures including piling, foundations, substructure, superstructure, and utility management. The engineer will ensure that all construction works are executed as per approved drawings, safety standards, and project timelines while maintaining quality control and proper coordination with contractors, consultants, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day construction activities related to Foot Over Bridge projects.
- Ensure execution of work as per approved structural drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Independently handle site execution, manpower deployment, and subcontractor coordination.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of assigned works.
- Piling & Foundation Works
- Execute and supervise piling works for FOB foundations including bored cast-in-situ piles or drilled bored shafts (DBS).
- Ensure correct pile alignment, depth, and verticality during execution.
- Verify pile depth using sounding chain method or approved measurement techniques.
- Monitor socketing in hard rock strata as per design requirements (generally 2D–3D of pile diameter).
- Supervise foundation excavation, PCC, reinforcement fixing, shuttering, and concrete casting.
- Utility Inspection & Shifting
- Conduct utility surveys and trial pit excavations before foundation work.
- Identify and manage underground utilities such as:

o Water pipelines o Sewer lines o Electrical cables o Optical Fiber Cables (OFC)

o Gas pipelines

- Handle utilities below 150 mm diameter independently at site.
- Coordinate with consultants or design experts for utilities above 150 mm diameter.
- Anchor Bolt & Structural Works
- Supervise anchor bolt fixing for FOB columns and steel structures.
- Ensure anchor bolts are installed using approved templates and drawings.




- Verify correct alignment, spacing, level, and anchorage of bolts before concrete casting.
- Ensure reinforcement is placed as per Bar Bending Schedule (BBS).
- Concrete & Structural Work
- Supervise steel fixing, shuttering, and concrete casting for pile caps, columns, and bridge components.
- Ensure proper curing, compaction, and finishing of concrete structures.
- Monitor structural work for staircases, ramps, and FOB superstructure elements.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure all work complies with project quality standards and structural specifications.
- Conduct pre-concreting checks for reinforcement, shuttering, and anchor bolts.
- Maintain proper site records, inspection reports, and measurement documentation.
- Safety Management
- Implement health and safety standards during all construction activities.
- Ensure safety precautions during:

o Excavation works o Piling operations o Concrete casting o Structural erection
- Ensure workers use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain barricading and traffic safety measures for projects near roads or highways.
- Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare daily progress reports including manpower, material consumption, and work status.
- Coordinate with Project Manager, QA/QC team, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Assist in technical problem solving and site decision-making.

Required Technical Skills

- Knowledge of piling and foundation construction
- Experience in FOB / bridge substructure works
- Utility identification and shifting
- Understanding of Bar Bending Schedule (BBS)
- Anchor bolt fixing and structural alignment
- Site safety and quality control.

Qualification & Experience:
- Diploma/ B.E/ B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- 4+ years of experience
- Experience in infrastructure or bridge projects will be an added advantage
