Experience

10 to 15 years of experience in furniture manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing wood furniture, upholstered furniture (sofas), and modular furniture production.

Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Wood Technology, Furniture Technology, or a related field.
- MBA in Operations Management is preferred.
- Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Kaizen are an added advantage.

Job Summary The Senior Production Operations Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and control of manufacturing operations across the Wood, Sofa, and Modular Furniture units. The role focuses on achieving production targets, improving productivity, ensuring product quality, controlling manufacturing costs, maintaining workplace safety, and driving continuous improvement while maximizing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Control

- Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within agreed timelines.
- Monitor production schedules and optimize capacity utilization.
- Coordinate with Planning, Sales, Procurement, and Stores to ensure uninterrupted production.

Manufacturing Operations

- Lead all production activities across:

- Solid Wood Furniture Unit

- Sofa Manufacturing Unit

- Modular Furniture Unit
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Optimize workflow to improve productivity and reduce cycle time.
- Monitor production performance and take corrective actions.

Workforce Management

- Lead and mentor Production Managers, Supervisors, Engineers, and Shop Floor teams.
- Plan manpower deployment based on production requirements.
- Identify skill gaps and arrange training programs.
- Drive employee engagement and performance management initiatives.

Productivity Improvement

- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles.




- Drive Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Reduce process bottlenecks.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Minimize downtime and increase operational efficiency.

Quality Management

- Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Work closely with the Quality team to reduce defects and rework.
- Investigate customer complaints related to manufacturing issues.
- Implement preventive and corrective actions.

Cost Control

- Monitor manufacturing costs and identify savings opportunities.
- Improve material utilization and reduce wastage.
- Optimize labor productivity.
- Control overtime and operational expenses.
- Drive value engineering initiatives.

Inventory & Material Management

- Coordinate with Procurement and Stores to ensure timely availability of raw materials and hardware.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess stock.
- Improve inventory accuracy and material flow.

Maintenance & Equipment

- Coordinate with the Maintenance team to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Minimize equipment breakdowns and downtime.
- Ensure machinery operates at optimum efficiency.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all statutory and company safety requirements.
- Promote a solid safety culture across all units.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and quality standards.

New Product Introduction

- Coordinate with the Design and Product Development teams for smooth introduction of new products.
- Ensure production readiness for new product launches.
- Validate manufacturing feasibility and process capability.
