Job Purpose The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure projects are delivered within the approved time, cost, and quality requirements. The role involves planning, progress monitoring, schedule analysis, forecasting, reporting, and coordination with engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain detailed project baseline schedules in accordance with the project scope, contractual requirements, and execution strategy.
- Prepare project WBS, activity lists, logic networks, resource loading, and project calendars.
- Develop and maintain Level 3/Level 4 detailed schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
- Prepare project execution schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline and identify schedule deviations.
- Collect and validate progress data from engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, and other project teams.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, manpower histograms, productivity reports, and progress measurement reports.
- Analyze critical path, near-critical activities, float, constraints, and schedule risks.
- Identify delays, slippages, and potential impacts on project completion dates.
- Prepare recovery schedules and mitigation plans for delayed or critical activities.
- Carry out schedule variance analysis and provide recommendations to project management.
- Monitor engineering deliverables, material procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover milestones.
- Coordinate with discipline engineers, construction managers, procurement teams, subcontractors, and consultants to obtain accurate progress information.
- Review subcontractor schedules and progress reports and ensure alignment with the overall project schedule.
- Prepare and update manpower, equipment,



and resource requirements based on project execution plans.
- Support preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analysis by maintaining accurate schedule records and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparation of change-order and variation schedules and assess their impact on project completion.
- Conduct schedule impact analysis for approved and potential changes.
- Maintain project planning databases, progress records, and schedule documentation.
- Participate in project progress meetings and present schedule status, key issues, risks, and recovery actions.
- Ensure timely reporting of potential schedule risks and delays to project management.
- Support project close-out, including as-built schedules, final progress records, and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in project planning and project controls.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling and construction/project execution methodologies.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of MS Project, Power BI, or other project-control tools is an advantage.

Experience Typically 6–10+ years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in construction, EPC, infrastructure, industrial, oil & gas, or similar projects.
