Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager Projects to lead the complete project lifecycle from Customer RFQ (Request for Quote) to Final Dispatch for precision engineered components. The incumbent will act as the single point of ownership for customer projects, ensuring seamless coordination across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Production, Planning, Procurement, Finance, and Customer teams.

The role requires strong expertise in project planning, customer coordination, new product development, manufacturing readiness, production ramp-up, and on-time delivery while meeting quality, cost, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Ownership (RFQ to Dispatch)

- Lead and manage the complete project lifecycle from RFQ receipt to final product dispatch.
- Review customer RFQs and coordinate with Engineering, Commercial, and Estimation teams for technical and commercial feasibility.
- Develop detailed project plans covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, validation, and dispatch activities.
- Act as the single point of contact for project execution across all internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines, quality standards, and commercial commitments.

Customer & Commercial Coordination

- Participate in customer discussions during RFQ evaluation and project kick-off meetings.
- Coordinate with customers regarding technical clarifications, engineering changes, timelines, and project milestones.
- Ensure customer deliverables, documentation, and milestone commitments are achieved.
- Manage project status reviews with customers and internal leadership.

Cross Functional Project Management

- Coordinate activities across:

- Ensure alignment between all departments for timely project execution.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

- Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept to production.




- Monitor manufacturing readiness for new products.
- Coordinate APQP activities wherever applicable.
- Ensure tooling, fixtures, gauges, inspection methods, and process documentation are available before production.
- Monitor First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP (where applicable), qualification batches, and customer approvals.

Project Planning & Monitoring

- Prepare detailed project schedules and milestone plans.
- Track project progress using project management tools.

- Monitor project KPIs including

- RFQ Turnaround Time

- Project Milestone Achievement

- Engineering Completion

- Procurement Readiness

- Production Readiness

- Customer Approval Status
- On-Time Delivery (OTD)

- Project Cost vs Budget
- Present weekly and monthly project review reports to senior management.

Manufacturing Readiness

- Ensure availability of:

- Raw Materials

- Tooling

- Fixtures

- CNC Programs

- Inspection Equipment

- Manufacturing Documentation

- Process Validation

- Capacity Planning
- Coordinate pilot production and production ramp-up activities.

Risk & Issue Management

- Identify project risks during every project phase.
- Develop mitigation plans for technical, commercial, manufacturing, supplier, and schedule-related risks.
- Escalate critical issues to leadership with corrective action plans.
- Drive root cause analysis and preventive actions for project delays.

Vendor & Supply Chain Coordination

- Coordinate with Procurement for timely sourcing of materials, tooling, and outsourced operations.
- Work closely with vendors for project-specific requirements.
- Ensure supplier commitments align with project schedules.

Project Documentation

- Maintain complete project documentation including:

- Project Charter

- RFQ Review Records

- Project Plans

- Customer Communication Records

- Engineering Change Records

- Risk Registers

- Project Closure Reports
- Ensure document control and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.





Continuous Improvement

- Drive Lean Project Management practices.
- Improve project execution efficiency.
- Reduce project lead time.
- Improve cross-functional coordination.
- Optimize project costs without compromising quality and delivery.

People Leadership

- Lead and mentor Project Engineers and Project Coordinators.
- Build a high-performance project management culture.
- Drive accountability and timely execution across project teams.

Required Skills

- Strong expertise in end-to-end project management from RFQ to Dispatch.
- Excellent understanding of precision manufacturing processes.
- Experience in customer project management.
- Strong knowledge of Current Product Introduction (NPI).
- Experience in engineering change management.
- Understanding of manufacturing planning and production scheduling.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, special processes, tooling, fixtures, and inspection methodologies.
- Strong understanding of project costing and budget control.
- Expertise in project planning tools (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Value Stream Mapping.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering.
- Master's Degree (M.Tech / ME / MBA Operations / Project Management) preferred.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification will be an added advantage.
