We work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and site teams to take projects from concept through design development, documentation, and execution.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Interior Designer who can independently lead the design development and detailing of assigned projects. The role requires strong expertise in interior design, space planning, materials and finishes, technical detailing, documentation, client communication, and project coordination.

The ideal candidate should be able to translate client requirements into creative, functional, and well-resolved design solutions while ensuring that the design intent is clearly documented and practically executable.

The role also involves mentoring junior designers, reviewing design deliverables, coordinating with clients and project stakeholders, and escalating critical design or execution matters to the Principal Designer.

Key Responsibilities1. Design Leadership & Concept Development

- Lead design development from concept through detailed design for assigned projects.
- Translate client requirements and project constraints into thoughtful, bespoke design solutions.
- Develop space plans, furniture layouts, material palettes, concepts, mood boards, and 3D presentations.
- Maintain consistency in design language, spatial logic, proportion, and materiality.
- Present design ideas and developments to the Principal Designer for review and alignment.
- Refine designs based on feedback while maintaining the core design intent.

2. Drawing Production & Documentation

- Prepare and develop working drawings, furniture drawings, elevations, sections, details, layouts, and specifications.
- Oversee and review drawings prepared by Junior Designers and Design Assistants.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, clear, and suitable for execution.
- Maintain strict revision control and drawing issue discipline.
- Ensure all design changes, revisions, and approvals are properly documented.
- Coordinate architectural, interior, furniture, and other relevant design information.

3. Technical Design & Detailing

- Develop and review detailed solutions for joinery, finishes, ceilings, walls, flooring, furniture, and key interior elements.
- Ensure details are practical, buildable, and appropriate to site conditions and execution capabilities.
- Coordinate interior detailing with lighting, electrical, HVAC,



plumbing, and other relevant services.
- Review technical information and submissions received from consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Identify design conflicts, execution risks, and impractical details at an early stage.

4. Client Management

- Act as a key design point of contact for assigned clients under the overall guidance of the Principal Designer.
- Present design concepts, materials, finishes, furniture proposals, and design developments clearly and confidently.
- Understand client requirements and translate feedback into appropriate design decisions.
- Manage design revisions and ensure client comments, decisions, and approvals are properly documented.
- Set appropriate expectations regarding design decisions and project requirements.
- Avoid independently committing to changes in scope, cost, or timelines.
- Escalate sensitive client concerns, disagreements, or major scope changes to the Principal Designer.

5. Site, Vendor & Consultant Coordination

- Conduct site visits and coordinate with site teams regarding design requirements and clarifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and specialist agencies.
- Review vendor and contractor submissions for alignment with approved design intent.
- Coordinate samples, mock-ups, technical information, and approvals.
- Provide timely design clarifications to support smooth execution.
- Identify and communicate deviations from approved drawings, materials, or details.
- Support the project team during critical stages of execution.

6. Quality Control & Design Intent

- Conduct design-quality checks at key stages of execution.
- Review samples, mock-ups, finishes, and executed work against approved designs.
- Identify deviations from approved design and initiate corrective action.
- Support site teams in identifying and closing design-related snags.
- Ensure execution maintains Vivid Concept's standards of design quality, detailing, and materiality.
- Escalate significant quality, design, or execution risks to the Principal Designer promptly.

7. Team Leadership

- Guide and mentor Junior Designers and Design Assistants.
- Allocate design tasks clearly and coordinate work within the design team.
- Review and correct junior-prepared drawings, presentations, and design deliverables.
- Provide constructive feedback on design development, detailing, documentation, and site awareness.
- Support the team in maintaining quality,



accuracy, creativity, and timely project delivery.
- Step in across responsibilities where required to prevent project delays.

8. Project Ownership

- Take ownership of assigned design deliverables, timelines, and project responsibilities.
- Plan and prioritise design tasks to meet agreed project milestones.
- Follow up on pending information, decisions, approvals, and inputs required for design progress.
- Identify potential design or documentation delays early and communicate them to the Principal Designer.
- Ensure deliverables are internally reviewed before being issued to clients or project teams.

- Strong understanding of interior design, space planning, furniture, materials, and finishes.
- Strong creative, technical, and visual communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of interior detailing, drawings, and construction methods.
- Good understanding of joinery, finishes, furniture detailing, and site execution.
- Strong client communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to independently manage design responsibilities across multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, decision-making, and ownership.
- Ability to guide and mentor junior designers.

Software Skills

Required:

- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- Adobe Photoshop
- MS Office / Google Workspace

Preferred:

- 3D visualisation / rendering software such as V-Ray, Enscape, D5, Lumion, 3ds Max, or equivalent.
- Adobe InDesign.
- Knowledge of additional design, documentation, collaboration, or project management software will be an advantage.

Experience & Qualification

- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in interior design.
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Experience in residential and/or commercial interior projects.
- Demonstrated experience in design development, technical documentation, and site coordination.
- Portfolio demonstrating design development, technical detailing, and completed project work is required.
