Role Description The Senior Estimator is a full-time remote role responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for infrastructure and building projects across different stages of design and construction. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents; performing quantity take-offs; analyzing labor, material, and subcontractor costs; and developing comprehensive bid proposals.

Estimator collaborates with project managers, quantity surveyors, and commercial teams to support cost planning, value engineering, and risk assessment. The role also involves updating and maintaining cost databases, benchmarking project costs, supporting contract negotiations with accurate commercial data, and providing clear estimation reports and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.





Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and tender preparation for infrastructure and building projects.
- Candidates should possess skills in cost planning, budgeting, and value engineering, with the ability to analyze project risks and commercial implications.
- Candidates should possess skills in reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and contracts, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.
- Candidates should possess skills in using estimating and quantity surveying software (e.g., Excel, cost management tools, or industry-standard estimating platforms).
- Candidates should possess skills in written and verbal communication, including report writing, presentation of estimates, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Several years of experience in estimation or quantity surveying, preferably in consultancy or contractor environments in infrastructure and/or building sectors.
- Robust analytical and numerical abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a remote work setting.
- Familiarity with UK and/or Indian construction standards, procurement processes, and contract forms (such as FIDIC, NEC4, or similar) is an advantage.
- Professional certifications in quantity surveying, cost engineering, or construction management are beneficial.
