We are looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with a strong passion for innovation, specialized robotic kinetics and next-generation product development. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of hardware and firmware engineering expertise, with a proven track record of developing complex, multi-axis motion control systems, kinetic platforms (such as AMRs or mobile robots) and high-reliability subsystems. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex R&D; initiatives and work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary engineering environment from concept to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and design advanced electro-mechanical platforms, including multi-axis systems and environmentally sealed solutions.
- Seamlessly integrate electronic control systems with precision mechanical components, structurally accounting for dynamics, environmental sealing and physical load requirements.
- Evaluate, select and sizing precision electric motors (brushed, brushless, stepper, or servo), electronic speed controllers/drives and robust power supply networks based on complex torque, velocity and payload demands.
- Architect custom circuit schematics and design multi-layer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for signal routing, conditioning, sensor interfacing and robust power distribution.
- Design, develop and maintain robust, deterministic control logic and embedded firmware for multi-bit microcontrollers and processing units operating in real-time environments.
- Define, select and integrate fail-safe mechanisms, redundant safety systems and hardware/software interlocks to protect high-value payloads, operators and equipment.
- Interpret hardware specifications to develop effective low-level hardware-software interfaces,
executing hardware bring-up and system optimization.
- Analyze and resolve complex, systemic electromechanical and firmware issues using deep-dive diagnostics to ensure zero-failure operation in demanding live-production environments.
- Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of system architectures, schematics and codebases utilizing industry-standard version control and project tracking methodologies.
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced knowledge of closed-loop feedback systems, tuning algorithms and the practical implementation of high-precision electronic drives and actuators.
- Deep understanding of power distribution, thermal management, noise isolation and voltage regulation for dynamic, high-current transient loads.
- Strong proficiency in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools for schematic capture, component selection, library management and multi-layer PCB layout (ensuring signal integrity and minimal EMI).
- Expert-level proficiency in C and C++ for bare-metal or Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) embedded platforms, with a focus on register-level optimization and device driver development.
- In-depth experience interfacing with absolute/incremental encoders, IMUs, environmental sensors and industrial serial/bus communication protocols
- Mastery of laboratory hardware debugging tools including digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers and multi-meters to diagnose complex hardware-software boundary issues.
- Ability to act as the technical bridge between mechanical, software and production teams in a fast-paced, R&D-focused; environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for generating technical proposals, design reviews and architectural documentation.
