Introduction

Oxford University Press is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Editor (Maths) to play a key role in shaping high-quality print and digital learning solutions for K-8 learners. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative educational products aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023, helping educators and learners achieve better outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to influence product strategy, pedagogy, and content development across multiple grades while working with a collaborative team of subject experts, editors, production professionals, and digital learning specialists. You'll contribute directly to products that support schools, teachers, and students across India.

As educational publishing continues to evolve, this role provides exposure to blended learning products, digital content development, assessments, animations, interactive learning experiences, and learning management systems. It is ideal for someone who enjoys combining subject expertise with innovation, creativity, and educational impact.

Opportunity

You will ensure that learning objectives remain central to product development while responding to evolving market requirements and curriculum changes.

Key responsibilities include:

- Developing product plans for new and revised blended learning products (print and digital) aligned with NEP 2020 and NCF 2023.
- Researching emerging educational approaches, analysing competitive products, and evaluating sample content to inform product decisions.
- Conducting feedback sessions with school leaders and teachers and incorporating insights into product improvements.

- Working closely with content developers to validate subject accuracy and quality.
- Training and mentoring editors, reviewing their work, and supporting proofreading and quality assurance activities.
- Managing Maths projects from manuscript development through to final print production.
- Defining learning objectives and measurable learning outcomes for products and concepts.
- Reviewing Coursebooks, Workbooks, and Teacher's Handbooks to ensure alignment with pedagogy and quality standards.
- Developing high-quality lesson plans that support effective classroom teaching.
- Ensuring timely and error-free development, review, and sign-off of digital content within learning management systems.
- Creating and reviewing digital content, including storyboards for animations, concept videos, games, and interactive learning components.
- Developing and reviewing assessment content and question banks, including taxonomy mapping and final LMS sign-off.
- Contributing to the overall assessment framework in collaboration with assessment specialists.
- Developing audio scripts, reviewing audio assets, and testing interactive e-book functionality.
- Managing timelines, priorities, milestones, and project deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Building strong relationships and maintaining effective communication with contributors, freelancers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborating closely with Production teams and Publishing Services Managers to meet critical publishing deadlines.

This role will have a significant impact on OUP's educational offerings by ensuring that products remain relevant, pedagogically sound, innovative, and aligned with the needs of schools, teachers, and learners.
