– Senior Analyst – Finance Analytics
Business Title: Sr. Analyst - Finance Analytics
Reporting Manager: Head, Central Data Platform and Finance Analytics
Overview:
We are seeking a commercially minded Senior Analyst – Finance Analytics with 7+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A;) within the Banking and Financial Services industry to join a quick-growing Digital Bank. This is a finance-first role. The ideal candidate brings hands-on depth in product profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, and building business and financial plans for new products, and can translate numbers into clear commercial recommendations for business owners.
You should be an active user of AI tools to accelerate and sharpen analysis, and comfortable enough with SQL or an equivalent programming language to source and shape your own data rather than depend on others. You will partner closely with Finance, Product, Business and Technology teams to shape decisions on where the bank invests, how it prices, and where it grows.
Roles & Responsibilities:
● Financial Planning & Analysis: Own the FP&A; cycle – annual budget, rolling forecasts, monthly, quarterly and annual P&L; reporting – with variance analysis and clear commentary on the drivers behind the numbers.
● Product profitability: Build and maintain product-level P&Ls; and unit economics across the portfolio (deposits, lending, cards, payments and fee income), covering margin, cost of funds, cost to acquire, cost to serve, risk cost and contribution margin.
● New product business cases: Build the business and financial plans for new products and propositions – volume and revenue build-up, cost base, break-even, payback, NPV/IRR,
and scenario and sensitivity analysis – and support pricing decisions with defensible assumptions.
● Track post-launch performance of new products against the approved business case, flag deviations early, and recommend corrective action.
● Use of AI tools: Apply AI tools (LLM-based assistants, AI capabilities in BI and Excel, agentic workflows) to speed up data preparation, exploratory analysis, scenario generation and commentary – while remaining fully accountable for the accuracy of the numbers.
● Partner with Product, Business, Treasury and Risk teams to agree assumptions, challenge them where needed, and convert analysis into decisions.
● Develop and maintain automated financial reports and dashboards, writing your own SQL to extract and transform the underlying data.
● Standardize and optimize financial reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy, and ensure data quality and integrity across all financial datasets and reports.
● Present findings and recommendations to senior Finance and Business stakeholders with a explicit, decision-ready narrative.
● Collaborate with data and analytics teams across the bank to leverage its data assets, analytic tools and other resources, and provide requirements that improve the quality, timeliness and scalability of financial analysis.
Qualifications and Skills:
● MBA (Finance) from a reputed institute.
● 7+ years of experience in FP&A;, business finance, product finance or finance analytics within Banking or Financial Services. Digital bank, fintech or NBFC experience preferred.
● Demonstrable hands-on experience across all three of: financial planning and analysis (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis); product profitability and unit economics; and business and financial plans for new products.
● In-depth knowledge of P&L; structures, banking finance metrics (NIM, cost of funds, CASA, cost-to-income, ROA/ROE, CAC, LTV) and finance reporting standards.
● Practical experience using AI tools to carve out analysis – for example LLM-based assistants for data exploration, modelling support, scenario building or commentary – with the judgement to validate outputs before they reach a decision-maker.
● Working knowledge of SQL or another programming language (Python, R or SAS) sufficient to independently extract, join and transform large datasets.
● Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, pivot tables and complex formulas. Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
● Demonstrated analytical skills to work through complex problems, manipulate and analyse large data sets, and produce actionable business insights.
● Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
● Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex financial analysis to non-finance and non-technical stakeholders and influence senior decision-makers.
