Position: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounts

Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Fort (CST - Shahid Bhagat Singh Road)

Experience

5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, and audit coordination.

Qualification

· B.Com / M.Com / CA (Inter) / CMA (Inter)

· Strong understanding of Indian Accounting Standards, GST, TDS, Income Tax, and financial reporting.

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Role Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Company's accounting records and financial reporting. The role owns the end-to-end accounting function, monthly and annual financial closures, reconciliations, MIS, and audit coordination while overseeing the accuracy of statutory compliance activities executed by the Compliance Executive.

The position works closely with the CFO to provide reliable financial information, strengthen internal controls, improve accounting processes, and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting

- Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts.
- Ensure proper accounting of all financial transactions.
- Review journal entries, vouchers, and ledger postings.
- Maintain the General Ledger.
- Review Trial Balance for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Accounting Standards.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation schedules.
- Account for provisions, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
- Perform periodic review of all balance sheet schedules.

2. Month-End & Year-End Closing

- Lead monthly financial closing activities.

3. Reconciliations

- Bank Reconciliation Statements.
- Vendor reconciliations.
- Customer reconciliations.
- Inter-company reconciliations.
- GST ledger reconciliations.
- TDS ledger reconciliations.
- Advance accounts reconciliation.
- Employee advances and reimbursements.
- Fixed asset reconciliation.
- Inventory reconciliation in coordination with operations.

4. Financial Reporting & MIS

- Prepare monthly MIS reports.
- Prepare Profit & Loss Statement.
- Prepare Balance Sheet.
- Prepare Cash Flow Statements.
- Budget vs Actual analysis.
- Department-wise cost reports.
- Profitability analysis.
- Variance analysis.
- Working capital reports.
- Receivable and payable ageing reports.
- Management dashboards and financial insights.

5.



Compliance Review & Coordination

(Compliance filings will be executed by the Compliance Executive.)

The Senior Accountant shall

- Review GST workings before filing.
- Review TDS workings and reconciliations.
- Verify statutory ledgers.
- Ensure books support statutory returns.
- Coordinate with the Compliance Executive for timely filings.
- Review compliance documentation.
- Support responses to statutory notices.
- Coordinate with external tax consultants whenever required.
- Escalate compliance risks to the CFO.

6. Audit Coordination

Coordinate and support

- Statutory Audit
- Internal Audit
- Tax Audit
- GST Audit
- Due Diligence Assignments
- Bank Audits
- Investor Information Requests

Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of audit schedules.
- Submission of financial information.
- Resolution of audit queries.
- Coordination with auditors.
- Tracking closure of audit observations.
- Maintaining complete audit documentation.

7. Banking & Treasury Support

- Prepare payment proposals.
- Review payment documentation.
- Monitor cash flow.
- Assist in working capital planning.
- Coordinate banking documentation.
- Monitor receivables.
- Monitor payables.
- Assist in fund utilization reporting.
- Support loan documentation whenever required.

8. Internal Financial Controls

- Ensure adherence to accounting policies.
- Strengthen internal financial controls.
- Review accounting processes periodically.
- Identify accounting and financial reporting risks.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Support automation and ERP implementation initiatives.
- Ensure proper documentation of accounting records.

9. Team Coordination

- Guide and support junior accounting team members.
- Coordinate closely with the Compliance Executive.
- Coordinate with Operations, HR, Procurement, and Sales teams for financial information.
- Ensure timely closure of accounting issues across departments.
- Support training and process standardization within the finance function.

What Success Looks Like The Senior Accountant is the custodian of the Company's financial records. Success in this role is reflected through accurate books of accounts, timely financial closures, reliable management reporting, seamless audit coordination, robust internal controls, and effective oversight of statutory compliance activities executed by the Compliance Executive. The individual is expected to provide the CFO with dependable financial information that supports sound decision-making while ensuring the finance function operates efficiently, accurately, and in full alignment with the Company's governance standards.
