Role Description The Seat Metal Designer role is a full-time, in office position based in Kovilpalayam. The role involves designing seat metal components and assemblies using appropriate engineering standards and CAD tools, ensuring manufacturability and structural integrity. Day-to-day tasks include creating and revising 2D drawings and 3D models, preparing bills of materials, and collaborating with production and quality teams to address design issues.

Designer will review specifications, incorporate customer requirements, perform basic tolerance and fit checks, and support prototyping and testing activities. The position also requires maintaining design documentation, adhering to safety and quality guidelines,



and participating in continuous improvement efforts within the engineering department.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in mechanical design fundamentals, including understanding of sheet metal processes, fabrication methods, and basic strength considerations.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools) for creating detailed drawings and 3D models of seat metal parts and assemblies.
- Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and preparing clear technical documentation.
- Candidates should possess effective collaboration skills to work with production, quality, and procurement teams, along with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
- Candidates should possess problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
- Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field are beneficial; prior experience in sheet metal design or automotive/industrial seating applications is an advantage.
- Familiarity with industry standards, basic material selection, and safety practices in an industrial environment will be considered beneficial.
