Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP RAP ABAP Developer with strong hands-on expertise in modern SAP development and S/4HANA environments.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model), ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, OData, Clean Core, and SAP extensibility. The role requires a development-focused professional who can contribute independently to S/4HANA implementation and transformation projects.

Candidates whose experience is predominantly limited to SAP Workflow, coordination, support, or functional activities may not be suitable for this position.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SAP applications using ABAP and RAP.
- Develop RAP-based applications and services using modern ABAP programming practices.
- Develop and optimize CDS Views, including data models required for S/4HANA applications.
- Develop and consume OData services/APIs for SAP and external system integration.
- Work with ABAP on HANA development and leverage HANA-optimized programming techniques.
- Implement SAP extensions following Clean Core principles.
- Evaluate and implement appropriate S/4HANA extensibility approaches.
- Participate in technical design, development, unit testing, debugging, deployment, and production support.
- Work on integration scenarios involving IDOCs and SAP Application Interface Framework (AIF).




- Analyze technical requirements and translate them into scalable SAP technical solutions.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, architects, integration teams, and other technical stakeholders.
- Perform performance optimization, root-cause analysis, debugging, and technical issue resolution.
- Ensure development follows SAP coding standards, security guidelines, and Clean Core principles.
- Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
- Support S/4HANA implementation and transformation initiatives across the development lifecycle.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Candidates should have strong hands-on experience in the following:

- SAP RAP

- Strong practical experience with RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
- Experience developing RAP business objects and services.
- Understanding of managed/unmanaged RAP scenarios.
- Experience with behavior definitions, service definitions, and service bindings.
- Ability to build modern Fiori/API-enabled applications using RAP.

2. ABAP / ABAP on HANA
- Strong ABAP development experience.
- Hands-on experience with ABAP on HANA.
- Good understanding of modern ABAP syntax and development practices.
- Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and technical troubleshooting.

3. CDS Views
- Strong experience developing and consuming CDS Views.
- Understanding of CDS associations, annotations, and data modeling.
- Experience using CDS as part of S/4HANA application development.

4. OData
- Hands-on experience with OData services.
- Understanding of OData-based integration and API exposure.
- Experience troubleshooting OData/service-related issues.

5. SAP S/4HANA




- Strong hands-on experience in S/4HANA environments.
- S/4HANA implementation experience is highly important.
- Experience working on S/4HANA transformation or implementation projects is preferred over purely support-oriented experience.

6. Clean Core & Extensibility
- Good understanding of SAP Clean Core principles.
- Experience implementing SAP extensions using recommended extensibility approaches.
- Understanding of in-app and side-by-side extensibility.
- Ability to assess technical solutions from a Clean Core perspective.

7. AIF & IDOCs
- Experience working with SAP Application Interface Framework (AIF).
- Good understanding of IDOCs, interfaces, monitoring, troubleshooting, and error handling.
- Experience in SAP integration scenarios will be an advantage.

- Robust hands-on RAP development experience
- Proven S/4HANA implementation/project experience
- Strong knowledge of CDS Views, OData and ABAP on HANA
- Practical understanding of Clean Core and S/4HANA extensibility
- Experience with AIF and IDOCs
- Strong coding, debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
- Ability to independently handle technical development assignments
- Good communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
