Position :Safety Manager

Qualification :B.E/B.Tech with Diploma in Industrial Safety from RLI or M.E/M.Tech Industrial Safety (Full Time)

Location :Mettur A - 1 JOB CONTENT :

- Maintain and continuously improve the Occupational Safety, Process Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System in line with corporate standards, ISO requirements, Responsible Care, and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory (The Factories Act, PESO, Air & Water Act, Environment Act , Fire & Rescue Act etc ) and corporate Safety, Health, Environment, and Process Safety requirements, including licences, inspections, audits, statutory reporting, and coordination with regulatory authorities.
- Plan and monitor environmental management activities, including ETP/STP operations, pollution control systems, hazardous waste management, environmental monitoring, sustainability initiatives, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Implement and monitor Occupational Safety and Process Safety programmes, including HIRA, HAZOP/PHA, MOC, Permit to Work, Mechanical Integrity, Contractor Safety, emergency preparedness, incident investigation, risk assessments, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Develop a robust safety culture through employee training, awareness programmes, emergency drills, performance monitoring, continual improvement, and coordination with plant departments, contractors, corporate teams, and external agencies.

A - 2 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Maintain and improve the Safety, Process Safety, Occupational Health, Fire Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and corporate Safety,



Health, Environment, and Process Safety requirements.
- Coordinate with DISH, PESO, TNPCB, CPCB, Fire & Rescue Services, and other statutory authorities for licences, approvals, inspections, audits, and compliance.
- Maintain all Safety, Health, Environment, Process Safety, and statutory records and reports.
- Conduct induction, refresher, and awareness training programmes for employees and contract workers.
- Implement Process Safety Management (PSM) elements such as HIRA, HAZOP, PHA, MOC, PSSR, Mechanical Integrity, Permit to Work, and Incident Investigation.
- Ensure safe work practices for hot work, confined space entry, work at height, line breaking, lifting operations, electrical safety, PPE usage, and contractor safety.
- Plan and monitor emergency preparedness, firefighting systems, emergency equipment, and mock drills.
- Monitor ETP, STP, pollution control systems, hazardous waste management, environmental monitoring, and sustainability programmes.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Responsible Care requirements, and corporate EHS standards.
- Conduct Safety, Health, Environment, and Process Safety inspections, audits, and implement corrective actions.
- Organize Safety campaigns, Near Miss reporting, Safety Week, Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS), and employee awareness programmes.
- Coordinate Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Process Safety, and Environmental studies with internal and external agencies.
- Prepare and submit statutory reports, returns, and other compliance documents to regulatory authorities.
- Promote continual improvement in Safety, Health, Process Safety, Fire Safety, Environmental performance, waste management, and overall EHS culture.
