Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Backup & Recovery Architect with deep expertise in Rubrik, TSM (IBM Spectrum Protect), Enterprise Backup & Recovery Architecture, and Hybrid Cloud backup solutions. The ideal candidate will have robust hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale backup environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

This role requires a technical leader who can drive architectural decisions, optimize backup operations, improve platform reliability, lead automation initiatives, and mentor operations teams while ensuring business continuity through robust Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Solution Design

- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise-scale backup and recovery solutions using Rubrik and TSM/IBM Spectrum Protect.
- Architect backup, recovery, archival, and disaster recovery solutions across hybrid cloud environments.
- Define backup architecture standards, governance frameworks, and operational best practices.
- Lead solution reviews and architectural discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance backup efficiency, scalability, security, and compliance.

Operations & Platform Reliability
- Oversee system health, capacity planning, performance monitoring,



and reliability improvements across backup infrastructures.
- Ensure high availability and operational readiness of Rubrik and TSM platforms.
- Analyze operational trends and performance metrics to proactively identify risks and implement preventive measures.
- Manage complex incidents, critical escalations, root cause analysis (RCA), and service restoration activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across enterprise backup environments.

Cloud & Storage Management
- Manage integrations with Azure Backup, cloud storage tiers, and archival frameworks.
- Develop strategies for cloud-native backup, retention policies, archival, and data lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to ensure seamless backup coverage.

Automation & Innovation
- Identify and implement automation opportunities using scripting and workflow-based solutions.
- Enhance monitoring, alerting, reporting, and operational processes.
- Optimize backup validation, recovery testing, and compliance reporting through automation.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and operations teams.
- Conduct technical training sessions and drive skill development initiatives.
- Partner with business leaders, infrastructure teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders on strategic backup initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership during audits, compliance reviews, and disaster recovery exercises.
