Key Responsibilities

Lead the R&D; team in developing innovative, market-driven formulations for skin care, cosmetics, and oral care products

Oversee product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO, COSMOS, etc)

Conduct ingredient research, stability testing, and efficacy studies to ensure product safety and performance

Collaborate with marketing, sales, and manufacturing teams to align R&D; efforts with business goals

Manage cost optimization and sourcing of raw materials while maintaining quality

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainability practices in beauty/personal care

Ensure documentation, patents, and intellectual property protection for new formulations

Mentor and develop the R&D; team, fostering a culture of creativity and scientific rigor

Qualifications & Skills

Hard Skills:

Strong expertise in cosmetic chemistry, dermatology, or related fields

Proficiency in formulation development for skin care, makeup, and oral care products

Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation, GMP)

Experience with lab equipment,



stability testing, and clinical trials

Familiarity with natural/organic formulations, preservative systems, and sustainable packaging trends

Soft Skills:

Leadership & Team Management - Ability to inspire and guide a technical team

Innovation & Problem-Solving - Creative thinker with a solutions-driven approach

Communication - Clearly convey complex technical details to non-R&D; stakeholders

Project Management - Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education:

Bachelor s/Master s/PhD in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field

Preferred Experience:

5+ years in R&D; within the cosmetics/skin care/oral care industry

Experience with private label manufacturing and client-driven product development
