Role Description The Relationship Manager role at HDFC Life is a full time, on-site position based in Bhubaneswar.

The Relationship

Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships with customers, understanding their financial and protection needs, and recommending suitable life insurance and related solutions. The role involves regular customer meetings, handling inquiries, providing policy information and guidance, and ensuring a positive service experience throughout the customer lifecycle.

Manager will collaborate with internal teams to process applications, follow up on documentation, and support claim and service requests. The position also includes meeting sales and service targets, conducting customer outreach, and participating in branch-level marketing or customer engagement activities.

Qualifications

- Ability to build strong customer relationships, with skills in client servicing, needs assessment, and long-term account management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication and the ability to explain financial products in simple terms.
- Sales and business development orientation, with capability in prospecting, cross-selling, and achieving defined performance targets.
- Basic understanding of insurance, financial planning, or related financial services, with willingness to learn product and regulatory details.
- Proficiency in using computers and digital tools for customer records, reporting, and communication.
- Ability to work in a structured branch environment, manage time effectively, and handle multiple customer interactions in a day.
- Prior experience in banking, insurance, or financial services relationship management is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; relevant certifications in insurance or finance are beneficial.
