Role Description:

- You will report to the India’s Head of Delivery and Design, part of the Major Builds Delivery Team in Colt DCS.
- You will provide multi-disciplinary technical and design management guidance to the Design & Engineering Team in India, obtain relevant deliverables in stipulated time from the Design Consultants and Peer review Consultants as well as collaborating with the other teams including Commissioning, Construction, Project Management, Commercial, Sales teams for customer solutions and Operations teams from site selection activities and due diligence studies up to project completion.
- Design and Engineering Team Support
- You will be required to manage the resources and the workload of our Design & engineering India team and identifying and organising Technical Development training for the Team, as well as Mentorship for our Engineers.
- You will act as the main point of contact between the local India team and the Global Team, to ensure continuity and quality of our projects delivery.
- The role will require the preparation of regular independent assessments (Audits) of the design integrity of our data centres, including the possible identification and remediation of Single Points of Failure, together with the preparation of regular Reports to monitor the design progresses on all projects in India for compliance with ours and/or Customer Requirements, ensuring delivery on time and on budget of our projects.
- To collaborate and provide advice and assistance to other Engineering, Construction (PM/CM/Commercial) and Operations teams on all matters relating to engineering and design.
- Working with other teams to ensure that all internal approval documentation are completed in a detailed and timely fashion.
- Projects’ Support
- Assist the Head of Delivery and Design, the Senior Project Managers and the assigned Project Managers to prepare project performance reports, collecting project KPIs, identifying challenges and assigning ownership, proposing and driving solutions.
- The role requires a proactive engagement with other Colt’s functions, embracing fully the “One Team” vision.
- The Regional Engineering manager will be also responsible in overseeing the technical delivery of projects, and accountable for consistency and adherence with Employer’s Requirements and specific Customers’ solutions on multiple projects in the region.
- The role will require continuous support of our Colt’s Design Managers to ensure objectives’ alignment with agreed programme and costs, and ensuring fast and responsive communication lines between Design and Project Management, for faster and effective timely decisions.

Due Diligence Technical Support





- Your role will require to support in identifying suitable external consultants and to assist in the preparation of their contracts at the early stages of each project (Stage 0).
- You will play a leading role in the delivery of the Data Centres Initial Due Diligence Studies, Fit Tests and Preliminary Optioneering Studies, managing external engineering consultants to meet programme, design and other requirements for the successful inception of the project and to ultimately achieve cost effective and resilient infrastructures.
- You will apply a technical approach in all aspects of the work including design, engineering and construction, working with other engineering functions, Procurement and Delivery to ensure that the procurement of all items is conducted on the most cost effective basis.This procurement should, where possible, cover not just initial acquisition costs but Total Cost of Ownership costs.
- You will also actively participate into the Stage 0 Design team workload to ensure that all project documentation internal governance approvals are completed in a detailed and timely fashion.
- Your role will require to support the assigned Development Director in monitoring projects Stage 0 and Stage 1 programme, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities, but also to advise and maintain standards for monitoring design, cost control and project information systems to ensure successful project delivery.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline
- 10 - 15 years of experience in complex services or mission critical industry
- Fluent in English with strong and excellent communication skills
- Excellent management skills and experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team and collaborating cross functions
- In-depth experience with Electrical, Cooling and Control Systems technical design and researching
- Experience performing commissioning, qualification & change control activities related but not limited to electrical systems, life safety and fire protection, HVAC, chiller plants, domestic and process water systems, building automation systems, etc.





Essential Skills and Experience

Essential

- Previous working experience in India
- Excellent English language written and verbal
- 10 - 15 years of multi-disciplinary engineering projects design and delivery, leading large and complex teams in either Design Consultancies or Contracting Firms
- In depth knowledge of Mission Critical Engineering Built Environment design processes, MEP strategies and technologies, CSA disciplines and their dependencies, construction works and various local authority approval process.
- Substantial experience of working in the Built Environment engineering industry.
- Delivery of large capital expenditure projects with a high dependence on MEP.
- Extensive knowledge of ASHRAE Testing and Commissioning processes and standards of critical systems
- Health and Safety legislation Regulations or similar.
- Impressive communication skills
- Robust time management skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate initiative.
- Must have the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Must be able to operate in an open management style and structure with an emphasis on team working and within a global matrix

Agility of a Start-Up In this role you will demonstrate the Agility of a Start-Up by tracking of all major new technologies and design solutions that may have application to Colt’s data centres, and then supporting in updating the GRD and BoD Design Documents.

Collaborate to perform In this role you will Collaborate to perform by ensuring that your team will support you in providing advice and technical assistance to other Engineering, Construction & Commissioning teams during the Projects delivery phases, as well as the Sales Team during customers engagement initiatives or the Operations Team on all matters relating to engineering and design on live facilities.
