Y Commercials also specializes in developing algorithmic models for quantitative hedge funds, offering a data-driven approach to investment and asset management.
Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Quantitative Researcher based in the Pune Division, with flexibility for partial work from home.
The Quantitative
Researcher will design, test, and refine quantitative models to support investment strategies and fiscal decision-making. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting and cleaning data, performing statistical and mathematical analysis, and conducting backtesting and performance evaluation of algorithms. The role involves collaborating with investment and strategy teams to translate business objectives into research hypotheses, documenting methodologies and results,
and presenting actionable insights.
The Quantitative
Researcher will also contribute to continuous improvement of research processes and tools to enhance model robustness and scalability.
Qualifications
- Robust foundation in Statistics and Quantitative Research, with the ability to design rigorous empirical studies and interpret complex data.
- Advanced skills in Mathematics and Analytical Skills for building, validating, and optimizing quantitative models.
- Experience or strong interest in Quantitative Investing, including familiarity with algorithmic strategies and performance evaluation.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in quantitative research (such as Python, R, or MATLAB) and in working with large datasets.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field).
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
- Prior exposure to financial markets, hedge funds, or investment research is an advantage but not mandatory.
