Position

Overview

We are looking for a Quality Engineer – Press Shop with 4 to 6 years of experience in the automotive or sheet metal manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality, handling customer requirements, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining compliance with automotive quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Monitor and maintain product quality throughout press shop operations by conducting first-off, in-process, and final inspections. Ensure products meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards while minimizing in-process defects. Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including Inspection Reports, Check Sheets, Control Plans, SOPs, and quality records.

Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC activities, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 requirements.



Handle customer quality concerns, support internal and customer audits, and implement CAPA through root cause analysis using 7 QC Tools and 5 Why. Coordinate with Production, Tool Room, Maintenance, Purchase, and NPD teams to resolve quality issues and support new product trials.

Monitor quality KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives. Guide and mentor junior quality engineers and inspectors to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or a related discipline. 4 to 6 years of experience in Press Shop Quality within the Automotive Sheet Metal Manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of press shop processes, engineering drawings, automotive quality systems, and customer requirements. Key Skills
