About Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer with 2-5 years of experience in Automation Testing, Network Protocol Validation, Python Development, and CI/CD-driven Quality Engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining automated testing frameworks that validate network device integrations and data collection pipelines supporting enterprise analytics platforms. This role combines expertise in Python Automation, BDD Frameworks, SNMP, Kafka, FTP/SFTP, Docker, Kubernetes, and Network Testing to ensure end-to-end quality across network discovery, telemetry collection, topology management, and analytics data pipelines.

What You'll Do:

- Design, implement, and maintain a BDD test framework using Python and Behave: write Gherkin feature files covering network device scenarios, implement step definitions, manage fixtures, and maintain shared test context across steps.
- Implement SNMP-based test cases: device polling (GET, GET-BULK, WALK), MIB/OID validation, SNMPv1/v2c/v3 authentication testing, TRAP and INFORM reception, and timeout and retry behavior verification.
- Implement FTP/SFTP-based test cases: file transfer initiation, transfer completion validation, partial transfer and error recovery scenarios, and credential and permission testing.
- Implement Kafka-based test cases: producer message publication validation, consumer group behavior, topic partition assignment, message ordering, and end-to-end delivery verification from network event to Kafka topic.
- Develop automated tests for network topology discovery: device adjacency correctness, interface state propagation, link up/down event handling, and topology change detection.
- Develop automated tests for statistics collection: counter accuracy, polling interval adherence,



delta/rate calculation correctness, missing data handling, and large-scale device fleet scenarios.
- Build and maintain test environment infrastructure: Docker-based network device simulators, Kafka test brokers, SNMP agents, and FTP servers; orchestrate multi-container test topologies with Docker Compose and Kubernetes.
- Integrate the test suite into CI/CD pipelines: trigger automated runs on pull requests and releases, publish test reports and coverage, and enforce quality gates before merges.
- Triage test failures, file detailed defect reports, and collaborate with development teams on root cause analysis and fix verification.
- Maintain test documentation: feature file readability, step definition discoverability, and environment setup guides.

Expertise You'll Bring:

- Strong proficiency in Python: scripting, packaging, async I/O, and test framework architecture
- Hands-on experience with Behave (or equivalent BDD frameworks such as pytest-bdd): Gherkin feature file authoring, step definition implementation, hooks, tags, and context/fixture management
- Experience with pytest for unit and integration testing alongside BDD scenarios
- Ability to design reusable, maintainable test utilities and page/protocol object models that keep step definitions clean and composable.
- Working knowledge of SNMP (v1, v2c, v3): OID/MIB structure, request types (GET, GET-BULK, WALK), authentication and privacy (USM), TRAP/INFORM handling; experience with Python SNMP libraries (pysnmp, easy SNMP, or similar)




- Familiarity with FTP/SFTP protocol mechanics and testing: connection lifecycle, transfer modes, error scenarios, credential handling; experience with Python FTP/SFTP libraries (ftplib, paramiko, or similar)
- Working knowledge of Apache Kafka: producer/consumer API, topic and partition concepts, consumer group offsets, and message schema validation; experience with Python Kafka clients (confluent-Kafka, Kafka-python, or similar)
