: QAC Engineer 1. Job Details Particulars Details Position & Designation QAC Engineer Grade P3 Division & Department Green Hydrogen Reporting To Lead QAC Manager Place of Posting Pune 2. Job Profile A. Key Objectives The QAC Engineer will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining internal manufacturing QA documents and reviewing supplier quality documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with customer specifications, international standards, statutory regulations, project quality plans, and contractual requirements.
- Managing supplier quality control and documentation review, including inspection of major packages throughout their complete lifecycle.
- Supporting quality planning, supplier development, manufacturing quality, inspection, testing, and documentation activities.
B. Major Responsibilities & Deliverables 1. Project Quality Planning
- Prepare Project Quality Plans and Site Quality Plans .
- Develop and review ITP/QAP for internal manufacturing and supplier activities.
- Develop Quality Assurance procedures.
- Develop Inspection Assignment Matrix.
- Develop NDT procedures, SOPs, FAT/SAT procedures and related quality documentation.
- Prepare and establish Quality Documentation Matrix.
- Develop Commissioning QA Plans.
1. Engineering Quality
- Review supplier documents and complete CRS activities for technical closure.
- Prepare RFQs and techno-commercial comparisons for QA services and documentation support.
- Validate technical specifications related to welding, painting, surface coating, nickel plating, oxy-cleaning, and statutory requirements .
- Ensure quality requirements are appropriately incorporated into engineering and supplier documentation.
1. Supplier Quality Management
- Conduct supplier qualification, assessment, development, and continuous improvement activities.
- Conduct supplier audits and capability assessments.
- Perform process validation at supplier facilities.
- Support product development and improvement through manufacturing process reviews.
- Plan and execute source inspections.
- Manage NCR and CAPA activities at supplier and manufacturing locations.
1. Incoming Material Inspection
- Verify raw materials as per applicable codes and standards.
- Apply knowledge of ASME, ISO,
IS codes and certification requirements .
- Verify major packages such as:
- Pumps
- Transformers
- Rectifiers
- Pressure vessels
- Heat exchangers
- PLC/MCC panels
- Handle verification of valves, instrumentation, and special-category components.
- Verify machined components with awareness of GD & T requirements.
- Conduct and monitor visual, dimensional, PMI, surface finish, calibration, and documentation verification with complete traceability.
1. Manufacturing Quality Monitoring
- Conduct and coordinate welding inspections and NDT activities .
- Coordinate TPIA and customer inspections.
- Manage final inspection and functional testing.
- Ensure appropriate execution and documentation of pressure testing, including:
- Hydro Test
- Pneumatic Test
- Helium Leak Test
- Monitor painting, acid cleaning, oxy-cleaning, and packaging activities.
- Support electrical testing, FAT offering, and performance testing activities.
1. Specific Area Knowledge
- Develop awareness of electrolyser manufacturing, material handling, and FAT programs .
- Knowledge of Gas Separation Units and Hydrogen Purification systems.
- Understanding of special machining processes.
- Manage non-conformances at supplier, manufacturing, and customer interfaces.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment such as motors, pumps, transformers, rectifiers, bus ducts, MCCs, and PLCs will be an added advantage.

- Knowledge of nickel plating and surface treatment processes .
- Understanding of fabrication processes and NDT methods, including RT, PT, UT, and VT .

- Knowledge of certification requirements related to U Stamp, CE Marking, and PED .
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and technical specifications.
B. Quality & Functional Skills
- Quality planning and inspection.
- Welding inspection.
- Pressure equipment lifecycle knowledge.
- NDT Level II.
- Helium leak testing and oxy-cleaning awareness.
- Vendor qualification and supplier audits.
- FAT/SAT execution for:
- Skids
- Assembled modules
- Pumps
- Electrolyser stacks
- Complex pressure-generating skids
- Integrated mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
- Calibration management and instrument handling.
- ISO Internal Auditor knowledge/certification.
- QMS implementation and documentation.
- Robust quality documentation and QD preparation skills.
Total Desirable Experience 710 years Minimum 6 years of relevant experience. 5. Qualifications B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering
1. Required Type of Experience Essential Experience
- 68 years of hands-on experience in Quality Management Systems, Quality Control activities, and Quality Assurance processes.
- Experience in FAT/SAT execution for skid assemblies, functional testing, large packages, and Balance of Plant equipment such as:
- Cooling packages
- Water packages
- Feed Water packages
- Air Handling packages
- Experience in vendor development for high-precision mechanical components.
- Hands-on exposure to machining vendors, plating vendors, and critical process equipment manufacturers.
- Experience in supplier audits and technical capability assessments.
- NDT Level II certification is mandatory.
- Hands-on knowledge of nickel plating, machining processes, laser welding , and other critical manufacturing processes.
