About The Role

We are looking for experienced Python Developers to design and build high-performance backend services for geospatial data processing. You will work on REST API development, integrate with external systems, and deploy containerized applications on Azure, handling large-scale geospatial datasets with up-to-date async processing patterns.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop scalable REST APIs using Python and FastAPI, including request/response contracts via Pydantic

- Process and manage geospatial data (shapefiles: .shp/.shx/.prj/.dbf) using geopandas, fiona, and GDAL

- Integrate with external REST APIs, implementing secure authentication (Key Vault), rate-limiting, and retry-with-backoff strategies

- Build and optimize asynchronous and background processing workflows on Azure App Service





- Create and maintain Docker images with native geospatial dependencies for consistent deployments

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure code quality, performance, and scalability

Profile Requirements

- Strong hands-on experience with Python and FastAPI (REST API design)

- Proficiency with Pydantic for request/response validation and contracts

- Working knowledge of geospatial data formats and libraries: geopandas, fiona, GDAL

- Experience with external REST API integration — authentication (Key Vault), rate-limiting, retry-with-backoff patterns

- Solid understanding of async/background processing on Azure App Service

- Docker experience — building custom images with native geospatial dependencies

Good To Have

- Prior experience in GIS, mapping, or location-intelligence products

- Familiarity with Azure cloud services beyond App Service (e.g., Key Vault, Storage, Functions)

- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for containerized Python applications
