Role Summary

Crysta Electricals Pvt Ltd is looking for an experienced and analytical Assistant Purchase Manager to oversee Import and Domestic Procurement. The candidate must possess solid technical expertise in "Should-Be Costing" (Zero-Based / Should-Cost Modeling) for wire harness raw materials, components (copper wires, terminals, connectors, heat shrink tubes, conduits, relays, and fuses), and tooling.

This role is responsible for driving cost reduction, managing vendor relationships, optimizing landed import costs, and ensuring seamless material availability for low-voltage and high-voltage wiring harness manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities1. Costing & Engineering Cost Analysis ("Should-Be Costing")

- Develop granular Should-Cost Models (bottom-up cost estimation) for wire harness assemblies, raw cables, auto-connectors, terminals, and sub-assemblies.
- Track and evaluate commodity price fluctuations (especially Copper (LME/MCX), PVC, and specialized resins) and map their indexation impact on unit pricing.
- Perform detailed cost breakdown (CBD) analysis, evaluating material usage, scrap allowances, crimping/assembly cycle times, labor costs, and vendor overheads/margins.
- Utilize cost modeling during supplier negotiations to drive targeted price reductions and achieve annual cost-savings targets.

1. Import Procurement & Customs Logistics

- Source and procure imported components (e.g., specialized connectors, HV cables, relays, and terminals)



primarily from international suppliers across Asia, Europe, and North America.
- Manage end-to-end import operations, including PO placement, LC/TT payment terms, Proforma Invoice (PI) verification, and shipping documentation (Bill of Lading, Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Form A/AIFTA).
- Coordinate with Custom House Agents (CHAs), freight forwarders, and logistics partners to ensure timely customs clearance (HSN code tracking, Duty structure calculations, and Port/ICD movements).
- Monitor IncoTerms (FOB, CIF, DAP, EXW) and landed-cost calculations to minimize freight, demurrage, and detention expenses.

1. Local / Domestic Procurement

- Manage direct material procurement for domestic sources, including auto-cables, corrugated tubes, tape, fuse holders, relays, and accessories.
- Execute MRP (Material Requirements Planning) cycles aligned with production schedules to avoid line stop situations while keeping inventory levels optimized.
- Drive VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) initiatives in collaboration with R&D; and Quality teams to identify local localization opportunities for imported parts.

1. Supplier Development & Negotiation

- Identify, audit, and onboard new domestic and international suppliers meeting IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 automotive standards.




- Drive periodic supplier performance evaluations based on Delivery, Quality (PPM), Cost, and Service (QCDS).
- Negotiate long-term agreements (LTAs), volume discounts, credit terms, and safety stock SLAs with key component suppliers.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Cost Savings: Target % savings achieved via Should-Costing and negotiation.
- On-Time In Full (OTIF): High material availability for local and import parts.
- Landed Cost Variance: Minimization of freight, duty, and handling surcharges.
- Localization / Import Substitution: Successful qualification of domestic suppliers for imported components.

Desired Candidate ProfileQualifications & Experience
- Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automobile Engineering (PG Diploma / MBA in Supply Chain Management is a plus).
- Experience: 5 to 9 years of hands-on experience in Purchase/Procurement within a Wire Harness or Automotive Component manufacturing company.

Technical & Functional Skills
- Expertise in Should-Be Costing: Deep understanding of copper weight calculation per meter, terminal plating costs, connector mold amortizations, and manufacturing overhead calculations.
- Import Dynamics: Proficiency in Customs Tariff (HSN codes), Import Duty structures, Foreign Exchange risk factors, and CHA coordination.
- ERP Proficiency: Solid hands-on experience working on ERP systems (SAP MM, Oracle, or local ERPs) for PO generation, inventory, and vendor management.
- Automotive Standards: Familiarity with IATF 16949 processes, PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), and APQP documentation.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
