The Vegetable Purchase Manager is responsible for procuring fresh vegetables directly from farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), mandis, and suppliers while ensuring the best quality, competitive pricing, and uninterrupted supply. The role includes vendor development, quality inspection, procurement planning, market analysis, inventory coordination, and maintaining robust relationships with farmers to support Adwait Farms' retail showroom and food processing operations.

Key Responsibilities Agriculture Procurement

- Procure fresh vegetables directly from farmers, FPOs, mandis, wholesalers, and suppliers.
- Develop a strong network of farmers and agricultural producers.
- Visit farms and mandis regularly to identify quality produce.
- Ensure continuous availability of seasonal and off-season vegetables.
- Negotiate purchase prices and payment terms with suppliers.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor timely deliveries.
- Source vegetables as per daily, weekly, and seasonal demand.

Farmer & Vendor Management

- Build long-term relationships with farmers and suppliers.
- Identify new sourcing areas and reliable vendors.
- Conduct supplier evaluations based on quality, pricing, and delivery performance.
- Educate farmers on quality standards, grading, and packaging requirements.
- Resolve procurement and supplier-related issues promptly.

Quality Control

- Inspect vegetables for freshness, size, color, maturity, and quality before purchase.
- Ensure products meet company quality standards.




- Reject damaged, diseased, or low-quality produce.
- Coordinate with Quality Control and Warehouse teams during receiving.

Market Analysis

- Monitor daily mandi prices and market trends.
- Analyze seasonal availability and price fluctuations.
- Prepare procurement plans based on demand forecasting.
- Recommend cost-effective sourcing strategies.

Inventory & Logistics Coordination

- Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams for stock planning.
- Prevent stock shortages and excess inventory.
- Monitor transportation and timely arrival of vegetables.
- Ensure proper cold chain management whenever required.

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain purchase records, supplier details, and procurement reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly procurement reports.
- Track procurement costs and budget utilization.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and management review.

Compliance & Food Safety

- Ensure procurement follows food safety and quality standards.
- Verify traceability of agricultural produce where required.
- Promote ethical and sustainable sourcing practices.
- Follow company procurement policies and government regulations.

Required Qualifications

- B.Sc. Agriculture
- M.Sc. Agriculture (Preferred)
- B.Tech Agricultural Engineering
- Diploma in Agriculture
- MBA in Agribusiness / Supply Chain (Preferred)

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
