Purpose
Working within the Model Implementation & Support team, part of the Actuarial Modelling & Valuations function in M&G; Finance, this role is responsible for coordinating the delivery of model development activity across a complex portfolio of change initiatives.
The role requires robust delivery and project management capability, with the ability to translate agreed scope into clear delivery plans, coordinate stakeholders across multiple teams, manage dependencies and risks, and maintain delivery momentum through effective governance, issue management and communication.
The role will work closely with model development teams, actuarial modelling and valuation stakeholders, delivery owners, budget holders, governance forums and assurance teams to ensure initiatives are delivered effectively and transitioned into valuation and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities1. Scope & Prioritisation
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and shape model development scope, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategic objectives.
Ensure changes to agreed scope are appropriately assessed, governed and agreed through the change control process.
Coordinate inputs required to assess delivery effort, dependencies, risks and delivery options.
Support agreement of funding and resource allocation with relevant budget holders.
Help prioritise initiatives across the portfolio based on business value, capacity, dependencies and delivery constraints.

Planning & Execution
Develop and maintain clear delivery plans covering scope, milestones, owners, dependencies and key deliverables.
Coordinate delivery activity across multiple model development workstreams.
Drive disciplined execution through effective resource planning, progress tracking and regular delivery check-ins.
Maintain visibility of delivery progress and ensure activities remain aligned across interdependent workstreams.
Identify emerging issues and dependencies early and coordinate appropriate actions to maintain delivery momentum.
Support effective handover of completed model development activity into valuation, reporting and operational processes.
- Progress, Risk & Issue Management
Provide regular and transparent progress updates to stakeholders, including status, risks, dependencies and actions required.
Track delivery against agreed plans, milestones, funding and resource commitments.
Identify, document and escalate risks and issues through appropriate governance channels.
Maintain RAID logs and ensure actions are actively managed through to resolution.
Highlight emerging cost, resource or delivery pressures and support appropriate mitigation.
Establish clear escalation routes and recommend actions where delivery is at risk.
- Governance & Stakeholder Communication
Prepare materials and updates for key meetings, governance forums and stakeholder reviews.
Track actions arising from governance forums and ensure appropriate follow-up and closure.
Provide clear, concise and timely communication to senior stakeholders on progress, risks, dependencies, decisions and required actions.
Coordinate with internal review and assurance teams where applicable.
Support engagement with external audit where required.
Ensure delivery activity operates within the relevant governance, change control and assurance frameworks.
- Cross-Initiative Coordination
Coordinate delivery across related model development initiatives to support a joined-up implementation approach.
Identify and manage cross-project dependencies and sequencing requirements.
Ensure related initiatives remain aligned and that impacts across workstreams are appropriately understood.
Support effective transition and handover of model changes into valuation and reporting processes.
Maintain an overall view of the development portfolio and identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency.

Experience
Experience coordinating delivery activity across a portfolio of model development or change initiatives.
Experience in scope definition, effort assessment, milestone planning, dependency management and delivery tracking.
Experience working with senior stakeholders, delivery owners, budget holders and governance forums.
Experience supporting decision-making, funding and resource alignment.
Experience in effective risk, issue and dependency escalation and resolution.
Experience working within actuarial, finance, model development, valuation, reporting or another controlled delivery environment would be advantageous.
Experience of working in a complex financial services or insurance environment would be desirable.
Experience of actuarial modelling, financial modelling or model governance would be an advantage.
Educational Qualifications
Graduate degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgilePM, Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist or an equivalent delivery/project management qualification is desirable.
A postgraduate qualification such as MBA, MSc, MCom, CA, CFA or an equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous.
Actuarial qualifications or progress towards actuarial examinations would be beneficial but are not mandatory.
