Role & responsibilities

Erection & Installation

- Plan, supervise and execute erection and installation of electrical systems, lighting (streetlight poles, faade/uplighting, airfield/area lighting), panels, cabling, earthing and allied equipment as per approved drawings and BOQ.
- Study electrical drawings, single line diagrams (SLD), layouts and technical specifications, and translate them into site execution plans.
- Verify material received against BOQ/delivery schedules and coordinate with the procurement/stores team for timely mobilization of materials at site.

Testing & Commissioning

- Carry out and supervise pre-commissioning checks, insulation/continuity/earth resistance tests, load testing, functional testing and final commissioning of installed systems.
- Prepare and maintain test reports, commissioning checklists, and handover documentation.
- Troubleshoot faults and rectify defects identified during testing, inspection or client walkthroughs.

Site Coordination

- Act as the primary site engineer coordinating between the client, project team, contractors, sub-vendors and OEM support engineers.
- Coordinate day-to-day activities of site labour, technicians and contractor crews to meet project milestones and timelines.
- Interface with client-side engineers and consultants for approvals, inspections and progress reviews.
- Track daily/weekly progress, prepare site reports (DPR/WPR), and escalate delays or resource constraints proactively.

Safety & Permits

- Obtain and manage all required work permits height/hot work/electrical/civil work permits,



and general work permits from the airport authority/client.
- Ensure compliance with airport safety norms, BCAS security requirements, and site EHS regulations.
- Facilitate Airport Entry Passes (AEP) and security clearances for the execution team and coordinate with the client's safety department.
- Enforce use of PPE, tool-box talks, and safe work practices; ensure all high-risk activities are carried out under valid permits and supervision.

Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain project records measurement sheets, material reconciliation, test certificates, permit logs and completion documents.
- Support liaison with the Electrical Inspectorate and statutory authorities for inspection and approvals where required.
- Assist in preparation of completion/handover documents and as-built records.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Skills

- Hands-on knowledge of electrical erection, testing & commissioning practices.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs and AutoCAD layouts.
- Familiarity with airport/industrial site safety and permit-to-work systems.
- Robust coordination, reporting and vendor-management skills.
- Willingness to work at multiple airport sites and adapt to airport security protocols.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for reporting.

Preferred

- Prior experience on airport, aviation, or large infrastructure electrical/lighting projects.
- Knowledge of AGL (Airfield Ground Lighting) or airport lighting systems is an added advantage.
