Position Title : Program Associate

Location - Bengaluru, Karnataka (with regular travel to project locations across Karnataka and other states as required)

Position Summary The Program Associate will support the implementation of community engagement, capacity-building, action research, development programmes, and outreach initiatives undertaken by GRAAM. The incumbent will work closely with communities, local governance institutions, government departments, civil society organizations, donors, and project partners to facilitate programme implementation, stakeholder engagement, communication, documentation, and visibility activities. The role requires a strong commitment to grassroots development, community participation, effective communication, and evidence-based programme implementation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Programme Implementation & Community Engagement

- Support implementation of community action and development projects across assigned locations.
- Coordinate and facilitate community meetings, awareness campaigns, consultations, and participatory exercises.
- Work closely with Community structures like VHSNCs, Jan Arogya Samitis (JAS), etc., Community Based Organizations like Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Youth, Farmers, etc., and various development Departments.
- Promote community participation and strengthen community ownership of programme activities.
- Support field operations and ensure timely completion of project activities and deliverables.

2. Stakeholder Coordination & Partnerships

- Coordinate with government departments, NGOs, community institutions, donors, and project partners.
- Facilitate communication between field teams and stakeholders.




- Organize stakeholder consultations, workshops, exposure visits, and review meetings.

3. Research, Monitoring & Field Support

- Assist in conducting field assessments, surveys, consultations, and action research activities.
- Translate and testing of field tools and questionnaires.
- Coordinate data collection, validation, and quality monitoring activities.
- Training field investigators, volunteers, and community resource persons.

4. Assist in planning and organizing public events, exhibitions, campaigns, and outreach programmes. 5. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain project records, databases, activity reports, and field documentation.
- Prepare meeting minutes, field reports, presentations, and progress reports.
- Support donor reporting, proposal development, and organizational documentation requirements.
- Track programme outputs, milestones, and key performance indicators.

6. Capacity Building Support

- Assist in organizing training programmes, workshops, orientation sessions, and exposure visits.
- Support preparation of training materials, facilitation guides, IEC materials, and learning resources.
- Provide logistical and coordination support during events and capacity-building programmes.

7. Other Responsibilities

- Support proposal development, secondary research, and organizational initiatives.




- Facilitate field visits of donors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
- Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the reporting authority.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Qualifications

- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), Rural Development, Public Health, Sociology, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related disciplines.

Experience

- 1–3 years of experience in community development, public health, governance, outreach, research, or related social sector programme.
- Fresh candidates with strong field exposure, internships, or volunteer experience may also be considered.

Skills & Competencies

- Understanding of community development and participatory approaches.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Good documentation, report-writing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to organize events, workshops, campaigns, and outreach activities.
- Basic understanding of digital communication and social media platforms.
- Knowledge of field research and data collection methods.

Computer/Digital Skills

- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel extensively for field activities.
- Use of AI, LLM.

Core Skills

- Desirable: Designing Software like Canva Etc.

Language Requirements

- Valuable command of English and Kannada (written and verbal).
- Working knowledge of Hindi is desirable.
- Knowledge of additional regional languages will be an advantage.
