We are looking for an experienced and responsible Production Supervisor to manage day-to-day production activities and ensure efficient utilization of manpower, materials, machinery, and time.

Job Summary The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising production operations, managing shop-floor manpower, ensuring production targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that production activities are completed safely and on schedule.

The ideal candidate should have strong people-management, production planning, problem-solving, coordination, and follow-up skills and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Execution

- Plan and supervise daily production activities based on production requirements and project schedules.
- Allocate work to production workers according to their skills and workload.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned timelines.
- Monitor production progress throughout the day and take corrective action when required.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, materials, machinery, and production resources.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager/Head of Production regarding daily production priorities.

1. Manpower Management

- Supervise and manage production workers and operators on the shop floor.
- Allocate manpower effectively based on production requirements.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, discipline, productivity, and work performance.
- Ensure employees follow company rules, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Identify manpower shortages and communicate requirements to the concerned manager/HR.
- Train and guide workers on proper work methods and production processes.
- Maintain discipline and a professional working environment on the shop floor.

1. Quality Control

- Ensure production is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular checks during the production process to identify defects or deviations.




- Minimize rework, rejection, wastage, and production errors.
- Coordinate with the Quality/Design/Project team to resolve quality-related issues.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented for recurring production problems.

1. Material & Inventory Coordination

- Ensure required raw materials and consumables are available for production.
- Coordinate with Stores/Purchase regarding material requirements and shortages.
- Monitor material usage and minimize unnecessary wastage.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of production materials.
- Report material shortages, damages, or quality issues promptly.

1. Machine & Equipment Management

- Ensure machines, tools, and equipment are used properly.
- Monitor machine performance and report breakdowns or maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure workers follow proper machine operating procedures.

1. Safety & Housekeeping

- Ensure employees follow all applicable safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Conduct regular shop-floor checks for unsafe conditions.
- Report accidents, incidents, and safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness in the production area.
- Ensure tools, materials, and finished products are stored systematically.

1. Coordination with Other Departments

- Coordinate closely with Design, Projects, Stores, Purchase, Quality, Dispatch, and Management teams.
- Clarify production requirements, drawings, specifications, and delivery priorities.
- Coordinate with the Dispatch team to ensure finished products are ready as per schedule.
- Communicate production delays, issues, and risks to the concerned manager without delay.

1. Production Reporting & Documentation

- Maintain daily production records and production-related documentation.
- Prepare daily/weekly production reports as required.
- Track planned vs. actual production.
- Report manpower utilization, productivity, rejection, rework, material wastage, and delays.




- Maintain records of production issues and corrective actions.

Key Performance Areas (KPIs) The Production Supervisor will be evaluated based on:
- Achievement of daily/monthly production targets.
- Timely completion of production schedules.
- Production productivity and manpower utilization.
- Reduction in rejection and rework.
- Reduction in material wastage.
- Quality of finished products.
- Machine/equipment utilization.
- Shop-floor discipline and attendance.
- Compliance with safety procedures.
- Effective coordination with other departments.
- Accuracy and timely submission of production reports.

Requirements
- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production supervision or a similar manufacturing role.
- Experience in supervising production workers/operators.
- Good understanding of production processes and shop-floor operations.
- Ability to read and understand production drawings/specifications will be an advantage.
- Good manpower-management and problem-solving skills.
- Robust communication and coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of production planning and reporting.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting.
