Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Production Engineer – Plastic Injection Molding to manage day-to-day production activities, ensure optimum machine utilization, maintain quality standards, and achieve production targets. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in plastic injection molding processes, production planning, manpower handling, troubleshooting, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day plastic injection molding production operations and ensure production targets are achieved.
- Set up and monitor injection molding machines, molds, and process parameters.
- Handle machine start-up, changeover, mold change, and process stabilization.
- Monitor parameters such as temperature, pressure, cycle time, injection speed, holding pressure, and cooling time.
- Ensure optimum machine utilization, cycle time, productivity, and OEE.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, Stores, and PPC teams for smooth production.
- Monitor manpower allocation and effectively manage operators and technicians.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Reduce rejection, rework, downtime, and material wastage.
- Maintain production records, shift reports, rejection reports, and machine performance data.
- Support new mold trials, process validation, and new product development activities.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring production and quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity,



quality, cost reduction, and process optimization.
- Ensure proper handling and utilization of engineering plastics and other molding materials.
- Maintain 5S and safety standards within the production area.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Plastic Injection Molding.
- Knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, auxiliaries, and process parameters.
- Experience with engineering plastics such as ABS, PP, PA, POM, PC, PC-ABS, Nylon, etc.
- Good understanding of molding defects and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of OEE, productivity improvement, rejection control, and cycle-time optimization.
- Experience in mold changeover and machine setting.
- Basic understanding of quality tools and root-cause analysis.
- Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing will be an advantage.
- Exposure to automotive component manufacturing will be preferred.

Educational Qualification Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Polymer, Plastics Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

4–7 years of relevant experience in Plastic Injection Molding Production, preferably in an automotive component manufacturing setting.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Strong production-floor exposure with hands-on injection molding experience.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage production targets and shop-floor manpower.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to work in shift operations.
- Candidates with experience in automotive Tier-1 / Tier-2 component manufacturing will be preferred.
