– Product Analyst

Location: Ahmedabad

Company: the EleFant

Department: Product & Technology

Experience: 1–3 Years

Reports To: Product Manager / Head of Product

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Analyst who loves numbers, understands user behaviour and can convert data into clear product actions.

At the EleFant, thousands of parents interact with our app across discovery, subscription, toy selection, ordering, exchanges, deliveries and renewals. The Product Analyst will help us understand:

What are users doing? Where are they dropping? Why is it happening? And what should we change?

This is a hands-on role working closely with Product, Technology, Growth, Operations and Customer Experience teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product & User Analytics

- Analyse the complete customer journey across the EleFant app.
- Track user behaviour from App Install → Registration → Plan View → Subscription → First Order → Repeat Orders → Renewal.
- Identify friction points and drop-offs across important journeys.
- Analyse feature adoption and usage patterns.
- Build cohorts based on customer behaviour, engagement and lifecycle.

2. Funnel & Conversion Analysis Own key product funnels including:

- Registration conversion
- Subscription conversion
- First-order conversion
- Toy discovery → Cart → Order
- Return & exchange journey
- Repeat order frequency
- Renewal and cancellation
- Customer reactivation

Recommend actions to improve conversion at each stage. 3. Customer Behaviour & Retention

- Understand what drives highly engaged members.
- Analyse frequency of toy exchanges and ordering patterns.
- Identify early indicators of churn.
- Analyse differences between retained, renewed and cancelled customers.
- Help Product build interventions to improve engagement and retention.

4.

Product Dashboards Build and maintain dashboards covering:

- DAU / WAU / MAU
- New registrations
- Conversion rates
- Active subscribers
- Orders per subscriber
- Exchange frequency
- Feature adoption
- Funnel drop-offs
- Retention cohorts
- Renewals
- Cancellations
- NPS / customer feedback indicators

The objective is to create one clear source of truth for product performance. 5. Experimentation & A/B Testing

- Work with Product and Growth teams to define experiments.
- Establish success metrics before launches.
- Measure A/B tests and product changes.
- Analyse whether a feature actually improved customer behaviour.
- Recommend whether to scale, modify or discontinue experiments.

6. Product & Customer Insights

Combine quantitative data with

- Customer support issues
- Parent feedback
- App reviews
- Sales feedback
- Operational issues

Help the team understand not only what is happening, but also why it may be happening. 7. Product Requirements & Validation

- Support Product Managers with data while defining recent features.
- Estimate potential impact before development.
- Validate impact after release.
- Identify product opportunities proactively rather than waiting for requests from teams.

Tools & Skills The candidate should be comfortable with:

- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets
- SQL
- Product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, CleverTap or similar
- GA4
- Dashboarding tools such as Power BI / Looker Studio / Tableau

- Basic understanding of APIs and databases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

Knowledge of Python is an advantage but not mandatory.

What We Are Looking For

Someone who is naturally curious.

When conversion drops from 12% to 9%, your reaction shouldn't simply be:

“Conversion dropped by 3%.”

Your next question should be:

“Why?”

And then you should be able to break the data down until we understand the answer.

You should be comfortable challenging assumptions with data and equally comfortable accepting that sometimes data doesn't tell the complete story.

Key KPIs

Success in this role will be measured through:

- Accuracy and reliability of product reporting
- Identification of actionable product insights
- Funnel conversion improvements
- Subscriber engagement improvement
- Retention and renewal improvement
- Speed of analysis and decision support
- Quality of experimentation and post-launch analysis

First 90 Days

We would expect the Product Analyst to:

First 30 Days: Understand the product, customer journey, data structure and existing dashboards.

By 60 Days: Build a clear view of the complete customer funnel and identify the top 5 product leakages/opportunities.

By 90 Days: Establish the core Product Dashboard and work with the Product team on measurable experiments to improve conversion, engagement and retention.

Why This Role Matters

At our scale, product decisions cannot be based only on intuition.

Every click, search, toy selected, order placed, exchange made and membership renewed tells us something about what parents and children want.

The Product Analyst's job is to turn those signals into better decisions—and better decisions into a better product.
