Job Summary The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of goods and services required by the organisation. This role ensures that purchases are made at the best possible price, quality, and delivery terms while complying with company policies and procurement procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify organizational purchasing requirements and prepare procurement plans.
- Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.
- Evaluate vendor proposals based on quality, price, delivery, and service.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse or inventory teams to avoid stock shortages or excess inventory.
- Resolve procurement-related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
- Prepare procurement reports, spending analyses, and supplier performance metrics.
- Support audits and maintain proper documentation for procurement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and purchasing practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar procurement software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Integrity, professionalism, and ethical decision-making.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
