Skill Requirements

- Proven experience min 10 years in administering Power BI environments, including Power BI Service and Premium Capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of Power BI tenant, workspace, dataset, and report configuration.
- Experience with On-Premises Data Gateway management and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of Power BI security models, including RLS and OLS.
- Hands-on experience in monitoring capacity metrics, optimizing resource utilization, and troubleshooting dataset refresh and performance issues.
- Proficiency in implementing backup, disaster recovery, and governance policies.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or Git.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience providing advanced (L2/L3) support.
- Robust collaboration and communication skills with the ability to partner with technical and business stakeholders.

Other Requirements (Optional)

- Power BI or Microsoft certifications (e.g., DA-100, PL-300) are highly desirable.
- Experience in large-scale, enterprise Power BI deployments.
- Familiarity with data modeling, DAX query optimization, and report design best practices.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) and related services.
- Prior experience in developing and delivering user training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and administer Power BI Service, Power BI Premium Capacity, and Power BI Fabric environments.
- Configure and maintain Power BI tenants, workspaces, datasets, and reports.
- Manage gateways (On-Premises Data Gateway) and ensure high availability.
- Monitor Power BI service health, performance,



and capacity utilization.
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and governance policies.

Security & Governance

- Configure Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS).
- Manage user roles, permissions, and workspace access.
- Implement tenant-level security settings and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and audit requirements.
- Monitor data access and usage through audit logs and activity reports.

Performance Optimization

- Monitor Premium Capacity metrics and optimize resource utilization.
- Identify and troubleshoot dataset refresh failures and performance bottlenecks.
- Work closely with developers to optimize DAX, data models, and report performance.
- Implement best practices for report development and deployment.

Monitoring & Support

- Provide L2/L3 support for Power BI users and stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, refresh, gateway, and licensing issues.
- Create operational dashboards and reports for environment monitoring.
- Manage incidents, service requests, and root cause analysis.

Deployment & Release Management

- Support Dev, Test, and Production environments.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or Git integration.
- Manage deployment pipelines and version control processes.
- Coordinate releases and production deployments.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Partner with business users, BI developers, data engineers, and architects.
- Conduct user training and awareness sessions.
- Define governance standards and platform adoption strategies.
