About the role.

This is a hands-on analyst position rather than an oversight position. The Power BI Analyst owns the reporting layer used daily by agency executives, operations managers, finance teams, and image reviewers. Toll programs generate millions of transactions, payments, exceptions, and review decisions, and the people responsible for those programs require direct visibility into that activity without waiting on a developer.

The analyst determines the appropriate visualization for a given question, builds it, and releases it. There is no separate BI developer assigned to implement the designs, and there is no intermediate layer between the analyst and the stakeholder.

This position suits an analyst who wants ownership of a dataset from source system through to published dashboard.

What you will do.

- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and semantic models across revenue, transaction processing, operations, image review throughput, and customer service performance.
- Write the DAX and Power Query behind those reports, and tune models for performance at high row counts.
- Design data models in Power BI that remain sound as data volumes and agency counts grow, including star schemas, relationships,



and incremental refresh.
- Translate an ambiguous business question into the appropriate analysis and the appropriate chart, and document the reasoning for that choice over the alternatives.
- Work directly with product, operations, and finance to define metrics, agree on definitions, and document them so that reported figures carry the same meaning across every report.
- Connect to and shape data from PostgreSQL, Azure CosmosDB, Azure Blob Storage, and REST APIs.
- Configure row-level security, workspace structure, gateways, refresh schedules, and deployment pipelines in the Power BI Service.
- Investigate discrepancies in reported figures and trace them to the source system.
- Build reusable report templates and reporting standards so that new agency deployments begin from an established baseline.

What you need.

- 6 years minimum of hands-on Power BI experience. This is a firm requirement, not a preference.
- Deep working knowledge of DAX, including time intelligence, calculation groups, context transition, and query optimization.
- Strong Power Query and M skills for data preparation and transformation.
- Proven data modeling capability in Power BI, supported by specific examples of models you designed and the reasoning behind their structure.
- Strong SQL,



including the ability to profile and optimize your own queries.
- Sound visualization judgment. The role requires determining whether a given question calls for a line chart, a small multiple, a decomposition tree, a matrix, or no chart at all.
- Experience administering the Power BI Service, including workspaces, row-level security, gateways, and refresh troubleshooting.
- Clear written English and the ability to work asynchronously with United States based stakeholders.

Nice to have.

- Tolling, transportation, or public agency experience.
- Familiarity with financial reporting concepts including reconciliation, settlement, adjustments, and revenue recognition.
- Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Fabric experience.
- Elastic Stack, Python, or R for analysis conducted outside Power BI.
- Microsoft certification such as PL-300.

How we work.

This is a remote position based anywhere in India, with a minimum of 6 hours of daily overlap with United States Eastern time. Work is organized in short cycles with output reviewed at the design stage rather than after the build is complete. The analyst works directly with product, operations, and finance stakeholders.
