Role Description The Owner at SAE Phoenix Aero is a full time, on-site role based in the Greater Surat Area, responsible for overall strategic direction, operations, and team leadership. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing project pipelines, coordinating design and build activities, and ensuring that aircraft and drone projects meet safety, performance, and educational goals.

The role involves mentoring student members, facilitating workshops and training sessions, and collaborating with faculty, industry partners, and SAE representatives to secure resources and opportunities. The Owner manages budgets, sponsorships, and events, including competitions, demonstrations,



and outreach initiatives that promote the club’s work. This role also includes setting quality standards, maintaining documentation, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture that supports innovation and skill development.

Qualifications

- Strong background in aeromodelling, aerospace, or mechanical engineering, with experience in designing and building radio-controlled aircraft or drones.
- Proficiency in engineering design tools and methodologies (e.g., CAD software, basic simulation tools, prototyping techniques).
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including mentoring, project coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience organizing technical events, workshops, or competitions, and managing budgets, sponsorships, or partnerships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Prior involvement in student chapters, technical clubs, or SAE-related activities is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree or active enrollment in an engineering or related technical discipline is preferred.
