Facilitate programs, special events, and classes that are planned by the Outdoor Recreation Specialist.

Lead classes of all ages and abilities in fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking, and other outdoor activities.

Help prepare all promotional literature and education material needed for events.

Monitor programs to ensure safety and community needs are meet.

Outdoor activities include, but are not limited to, fishing classes, hiking, paddle sports, camping, environmental education, etc.

Required

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities Ability to apply logical reasoning.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships necessary for work assignments.

Ability to deal with the public and co-workers courteously and maintain positive working relations.

Ability to react to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.

Must have or be willing to obtain a CPR/First Aid certificate.

Must have or be willing to obtain paddle safety class certificate.

Must have or be willing to obtain Leave No Trace training.

Must be able to work events independently and with a team.

Must be willing to work every weekend.

Education And Qualification Requirements A valid Mississippi Driver’s License is required.
