Job Summary

We are looking for a technically skilled and responsible Operation / Mechanical Fitter to join our Cable Car / Ropeway operations team at Athirappilly, Thrissur, Kerala.

The candidate will be responsible for supporting the safe operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical equipment associated with the Cable Car system and stations. The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, good understanding of maintenance practices and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the day-to-day safe operation of the Cable Car / Ropeway system.
- Conduct routine inspection of mechanical equipment and components as per prescribed SOPs and checklists.
- Monitor the condition of mechanical systems, moving components, assemblies and station equipment.
- Identify unusual noise, vibration, wear, leakage or other mechanical abnormalities and report them immediately.
- Carry out mechanical fitting, adjustment, alignment and minor repair work as authorized.
- Assist the Engineering/Maintenance team in preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Support inspection and maintenance of pulleys, rollers, bearings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, brakes and other mechanical components, as applicable.
- Assist in checking and maintaining station mechanical equipment and related systems.
- Ensure proper lubrication and routine servicing of mechanical components as per maintenance schedules.
- Assist during Cable Car system start-up and shutdown procedures.




- Support troubleshooting and rectification of mechanical faults.
- Maintain proper records of inspections, maintenance activities, faults and corrective actions.
- Assist the technical team during emergency breakdowns and operational incidents.
- Follow proper safety procedures, isolation procedures and work-permit requirements before carrying out maintenance work.
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Coordinate with Cable Car Operators and Electrical/Instrumentation personnel regarding operational and technical issues.
- Ensure strict compliance with company SOPs, safety standards and maintenance procedures.
- Be available for emergency maintenance support during operational hours, weekends and holidays when required.

Qualification Required
- ITI in Fitter / Mechanical Trade or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Candidates with relevant Cable Car / Ropeway or similar technical experience will be preferred.

Experience Required
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance, Cable Car/Ropeway, Amusement Park, Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing or similar technical operations.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is preferred.




- Experience working with rotating machinery, bearings, gearboxes, brakes, shafts, pulleys or similar mechanical systems will be an advantage.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be technically competent, safety-conscious, disciplined and physically fit, with a practical hands-on approach to mechanical maintenance. The candidate should be willing to work in an outdoor tourism environment, rotational shifts, weekends, public holidays and during peak tourist seasons.

Candidates with experience in Cable Car / Ropeway / Amusement Park / Theme Park / Industrial Mechanical Maintenance will be given preference.
