Role Description This is a full-time, in office News Editor role based in Raipur.

The News

Editor will oversee daily news operations, including assigning stories, reviewing copy, and ensuring timely publication across print and digital platforms.

Responsibilities include editing news reports for clarity, accuracy, and style, verifying facts, and upholding editorial standards and ethical guidelines. The role involves coordinating with reporters, photographers, and other editors to plan coverage, prioritize breaking news, and shape the news agenda.

Editor will also contribute to headlines, story angles, and content formats that engage readers and align with the organization’s editorial strategy.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong News Writing and Writing skills for clear, accurate, and engaging content.
- Candidates should possess solid Journalism and Editorial skills to manage news flow, maintain standards, and make sound editorial decisions.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with New Media platforms, including digital publishing tools and online news formats.
- Excellent command of Hindi (and working knowledge of English) with strong grammar, style, and headline-writing abilities.
- Proven experience working in a newsroom or editorial environment, preferably with a daily newspaper or digital news outlet.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize multiple stories, and respond quickly to breaking news.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong ethical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to fair, balanced, and non-discriminatory reporting.
