About The Role The Network Engineer role at Tech Data is a critical position responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting complex global network solutions. This role demands a high level of technical expertise in data, voice, storage, and video networks, including contact center and network security technologies.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate subject matter expertise in at least one of these disciplines, enabling them to handle most design questions and support issues within Tech Data’s intricate international environment.

The Network

Engineer will proactively engage with vendors and partners to optimize network performance, reliability, and security, ensuring seamless connectivity and operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative network projects, contribute to the company’s growth, and develop technical leadership skills within a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications Candidates should possess 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in network engineering or related fields. A Master’s or Postgraduate Degree in Network Engineering or a related discipline is preferred; however, a Bachelor's Degree in the same fields is required.

Certifications such as Cisco Certified DevNet Professional, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security,



CCNP Collaboration with multiple concentrations, or F5 Certified Technical Specialist are highly desirable. Knowledge of current tools and techniques to reduce network latency and optimize performance is essential. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.

Multicultural interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, organizational prowess, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations are crucial. A proactive learner who can quickly adapt to new systems and technologies will thrive in this role.

Responsibilities

- Design, configure, and implement complex regional network solutions to support new business initiatives, organic growth, mergers and acquisitions, and application service enhancements. This includes deploying departmental and enterprise switches, routers, firewalls, VPN gateways, IP telephony, IVR, Automated Call Distribution (ACD), SD-WAN appliances, WAN accelerators, load balancers, and other advanced network technologies. (55%)
- Provide comprehensive operational support for global and regional network services that enable customer access to revenue-generating applications and facilitate internal systems used by colleagues and support teams. Handle most issues independently, escalating only in rare, highly complex, or mission-critical situations. (20%)
- Maintain well-organized workflows and provide ongoing task tracking to ensure project deadlines and service level agreements are consistently met. (10%)
- Mentor and develop junior engineers,



sharing expertise and fostering a team-oriented learning environment to strengthen team capabilities. (10%)
- Regularly update technical documentation with new findings, configurations, and best practices to ensure knowledge retention and transfer. (5%)
