Role Description The MSL Lead will serve as a scientific and medical expert, leading a team of Medical Science Liaisons to support Wockhardt’s therapeutic areas and portfolio.

This full time, on-site role based in Mumbai involves developing and executing medical engagement plans, overseeing scientific exchange with healthcare professionals, and ensuring accurate, balanced, and evidence-based communication about Wockhardt’s products. The MSL Lead will coordinate peer-to-peer interactions, advisory boards, and medical education initiatives, while gathering and synthesizing medical insights to inform clinical development, medical strategy, and commercial teams.

Responsibilities include mentoring and coaching MSLs, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards, collaborating cross-functionally with medical, regulatory, marketing, and market access teams, and contributing to publications, presentations, and scientific materials.



The MSL Lead will also support key opinion leader (KOL) mapping, maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas, and help shape Wockhardt’s medical affairs strategy in alignment with global and local objectives.

Qualifications

- Advanced scientific or medical degree (e.g., MD,- Pharmacology) and strong background in pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in Medical Affairs or MSL roles, including leadership or team management of field-based medical teams.
- Excellent scientific communication skills, with the ability to interpret, present, and discuss complex clinical data with diverse healthcare stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, including experience working with KOLs, investigators, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Sound understanding of clinical research, evidence generation, and real-world data, as well as current guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with commercial, regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and market access teams while maintaining scientific integrity.
- Strategic thinking and planning skills, with experience developing and implementing medical plans, scientific initiatives

- EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION :
- ESSENTIAL: MBBS + MD Pharmacology/Microbiology
- DESIRED: Experience (industry or practice) in antibiotcs and critical care will be added benefit.
- MINIMUM RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2 to 3 years’ experience in Field/HO Based Medical Affairs
- LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS (IF ANY) : English
- INTERNAL CUSTOMERS: Mkt team, field force and training
- EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS: KOLs (Intensivist, ID Physicians, Clinical Microbiologist, General Surgeons, Internal Medicine, Haematologist/Transplant Physicians, Nephrologist and Pulmonologist/Chest Physicians)
