Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer – Sheet Metal with hands-on experience in SolidWorks and sheet metal component/product design. The candidate will be responsible for developing 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, sheet metal assemblies, and production-ready designs while coordinating with manufacturing, production, and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop sheet metal components, assemblies, enclosures, brackets, panels, and fabricated parts using SolidWorks.
- Create accurate 3D models, 2D drawings, detailed manufacturing drawings, and BOMs.
- Develop sheet metal designs considering material thickness, bend allowance, bend radius, K-factor, flat patterns, tolerances, and manufacturability.
- Prepare designs suitable for laser cutting, CNC bending, punching, welding, and fabrication.
- Review customer requirements, specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Modify and optimize existing designs based on production requirements and engineering changes.
- Coordinate with Production, Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchase teams for smooth execution of designs.
- Perform design calculations and select appropriate materials and components where required.
- Ensure designs meet quality, dimensional, functional, and manufacturing requirements.
- Support prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction,



material optimization, and design improvement.
- Maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, revisions, and other technical documentation.

Required Skills
- Robust hands-on experience in SolidWorks, particularly the Sheet Metal module.
- Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerances, fits, and engineering drawing standards.
- Understanding of laser cutting, CNC bending, punching, welding, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to create flat patterns and production-ready drawings.
- Good understanding of materials such as MS, SS, Aluminium, GI, etc.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in sheet metal fabrication, industrial equipment, electrical enclosures, automotive components, machinery, or manufacturing industries will be preferred.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹46,000.00 per month
