Manager IT Engineering - Applications, Mobile

Job Summary The Manager IT Engineering - Applications, Mobile will lead a team responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and optimizing complex mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms. The role will drive the delivery of secure, scalable, high-quality customer-facing applications using Agile methodologies and will partner closely with Product Management, UX, Architecture, and other technology teams.

The role will provide technical leadership across mobile application development, architecture, DevOps, integrations, security, and application performance while ensuring solutions align with organizational standards, mobile security requirements, delivery timelines, and business objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

- Lead and manage mobile application development teams delivering solutions for Android and iOS platforms.
- Translate business and product requirements into technical solutions, development plans, and delivery milestones.
- Provide technical leadership across mobile architecture, application development, integrations, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Partner with Product Management, UX, Architecture, and IT stakeholders to deliver intuitive, scalable, and secure customer-facing mobile applications.
- Establish and promote Agile/Scrum development practices across mobile engineering teams.
- Ensure adherence to mobile application security, coding, architecture, quality, and compliance standards.
- Oversee application performance optimization, reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement.




- Drive CI/CD and DevOps practices for native mobile application development and deployment.
- Provide technical guidance on Android and iOS development, build processes, application signing, dependency management, and distribution.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party libraries, APIs, and services into mobile applications.
- Manage project delivery, resource planning, risks, dependencies, and technical challenges to ensure on-time and on-budget execution.
- Develop team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and technical leadership.
- Identify opportunities to modernize mobile technologies, development practices, and engineering processes.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted.
- 6+ years of experience in software development or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience working across software development life cycles (SDLC).
- 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, with or without direct reports.
- 2+ years of experience developing and/or implementing mobile or web applications.
- Hands-on experience with Android and/or iOS application development.




- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, APIs/integrations, testing, deployment, and DevOps practices.
- Robust technical leadership, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience with mobile development or DevOps tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, JUnit, XCTest, Gradle, CocoaPods, or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- 2+ years of experience integrating third-party libraries, APIs, and services.
- 4+ years of experience leading projects using Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
- 2+ years of experience with Java/Kotlin for Android development.
- 2+ years of experience with Swift or Objective-C for iOS development.
- 2+ years of experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar CMS platforms.
- 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms, such as Azure, and/or enterprise application servers.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for native mobile applications.
- Experience with native mobile application signing, certificates, provisioning profiles, entitlements, schemes, configuration, build variants, and flavors.
- Experience with mobile application build tools and dependency management, including Gradle, CocoaPods, Swift Package Manager, or Maven.
- Experience with mobile application distribution and release technologies.
- Experience developing applications aligned with HIPAA, PCI, or similar regulatory/compliance requirements.
