About the Role An established global organisation is seeking an experienced MES Systems Engineer to support the development, configuration, integration and continuous improvement of a global Manufacturing Execution System (MES) environment.

This is a highly hands-on technical role working across MES development, software configuration, integrations, databases, testing, deployment and production support. The position will partner with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Solution Architects and manufacturing sites to deliver technology solutions that improve manufacturing operations and support digital transformation initiatives across a global network.

The successful candidate will play an significant role in enhancing a standardised global MES platform while supporting implementations, site rollouts and ongoing operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure, develop and enhance MES solutions using the AVEVA MES platform.
- Develop and maintain MES workflows, forms, interfaces and business logic.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable working solutions.
- Develop proof-of-concept solutions and prototypes where required.
- Support software testing, validation, deployment and release activities.
- Investigate application issues and perform root-cause analysis and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain integrations between MES and enterprise systems.
- Create SQL scripts, stored procedures and reports to support manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot data flows and integration issues across application,



integration and database layers.
- Support database interfaces, APIs and other data exchanges.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of a global MES template.
- Support MES implementations and rollouts across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Identify opportunities for standardisation, reuse and process improvement.
- Work with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to define technical solutions.
- Break requirements into development tasks and user stories.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, development, testing and release activities.
- Support production environments, system upgrades, maintenance and incident resolution.
- Provide technical support to users and manufacturing site teams.
- Collaborate with global technical and business stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with AVEVA MES / Wonderware MES , including AVEVA Work Tasks development and configuration.
- Experience developing and supporting MES applications within manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and ISA-95 principles.
- Strong SQL development and troubleshooting skills, including stored procedures.
- JavaScript development experience,



particularly for MES customisation and user-interface enhancements.
- Experience with APIs, application integrations and database interfaces.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub or similar development workflows.
- Experience across software testing, deployment and production support.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues across application, integration and database layers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Experience
- Experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences, consumer healthcare or FMCG manufacturing.
- Previous MES implementation or manufacturing site rollout experience.
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
- Knowledge of integrations between MES and ERP, LIMS, SCADA or historian platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and modern software development practices.
- Experience contributing to global technology standards or enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives.
