JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Export Merchandiser – Bags with a minimum of 4–5 years of relevant experience in the bags export industry.

The candidate will be responsible for handling the complete merchandising cycle, starting from product development and sampling to costing, buyer approvals, order execution, production follow-up, quality coordination, and shipment.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of bag construction, materials, trims, accessories, costing, sampling, production processes, and international buyer requirements.

The candidate must be comfortable working with buyers, buying houses, suppliers, sampling teams, production, quality, purchase, and export/logistics teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Product Development

- Develop new bag styles based on buyer requirements, sketches, tech packs, references, and market trends.
- Understand product specifications and convert buyer requirements into workable products.
- Coordinate with the sampling team for development of new styles.
- Follow up on proto, fit, salesman, pre-production, and approval samples.
- Ensure samples are developed correctly and submitted within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with buyers for comments, corrections, and approvals.
- Maintain proper records of sample development and approval status.

1. Buyer Coordination

- Communicate with international buyers and buying houses regarding product development and order execution.
- Understand buyer requirements and communicate specifications clearly to internal teams.
- Handle buyer comments and ensure timely implementation.
- Share sample, costing, order, production, and shipment updates with buyers.
- Maintain strong and professional relationships with buyers.

1. Costing & Commercial Activities

- Prepare accurate costing for bags based on material, trims, accessories, labor, packing, overheads, and other costs.
- Coordinate with purchase and production teams for updated material and manufacturing costs.
- Work towards achieving target prices and company margins.
- Support price negotiation with buyers.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

1. Order Management





- Manage orders from confirmation to final shipment.
- Prepare and maintain order sheets, BOMs, T&A; plans, specifications, and other merchandising documents.
- Follow up with purchase, sampling, production, stores, quality, and logistics teams.
- Monitor order progress and ensure timely execution.
- Identify potential delays and take corrective action proactively.
- Ensure all orders are executed according to buyer specifications and delivery timelines.

1. Production Follow-Up

- Coordinate closely with the production team for smooth order execution.
- Ensure approved samples and specifications are properly communicated to production.
- Follow up on materials, trims, production progress, and finishing.
- Resolve production-related issues in coordination with relevant departments.
- Monitor production against planned timelines.

1. Quality Coordination

- Coordinate with the quality team to ensure buyer quality standards are followed.
- Check product specifications, measurements, construction, workmanship, colors, trims, and finishing.
- Ensure production is carried out as per approved samples.
- Follow up on quality issues and corrective actions.
- Coordinate buyer inspections wherever applicable.

1. Material & Accessories Follow-Up

- Coordinate with the purchase team for timely availability of fabrics, PU/PVC, leather, lining, foam, webbing, zippers, buckles, labels, printing, embroidery, and other accessories.
- Ensure materials are procured according to approved quality and specifications.
- Follow up on material approvals and testing requirements.
- Highlight material shortages or delays that may impact production.

1. Shipment Follow-Up

- Ensure orders are completed within the committed shipment schedule.
- Coordinate with production, quality, packing, and logistics teams.
- Monitor final inspection, packing, dispatch, and shipment status.
- Ensure packing and shipment requirements are followed as per buyer instructions.
- Coordinate with the export/logistics team for shipment-related information and documentation.





REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 4–5 years of relevant experience in Bag Export Merchandising is mandatory.

SKILLS REQUIRED
- Solid knowledge of bag manufacturing and construction
- Good understanding of fabrics, PU/PVC, leather, lining, foam, webbing, zippers, buckles, hardware, labels, etc.
- Strong product development and sampling skills
- Good costing knowledge
- Excellent follow-up skills
- Strong buyer communication skills
- Good negotiation and problem-solving ability
- Good understanding of production processes
- Ability to manage multiple styles/orders simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and email communication

CANDIDATE PROFILE We are looking for a hands-on merchandiser who can independently manage the complete product development and order execution process.

Candidates with only apparel merchandising experience will be preferred.

EDUCATION

Graduate in any discipline.

Candidates with qualifications in Fashion, Textile, Apparel, Product Development, Merchandising, or related fieldswill have an added advantage.

Salary: ₹[35,000-45,000] per month, depending on experience and suitability.
