About Bridging Room

Bridging Room is BRENMAN's editorial arm. We publish a weekly article and a video podcast on how infrastructure and construction actually get delivered in India.

BRENMAN itself runs practice led programs in Construction Management, BIM Business Management, Construction Law, and Managing Long Span Bridges, taught by practitioners rather than professors. That bench, and the network around it, is how Bridging Room gets access to sources most publications cannot reach.

We are looking for an intern to help us report more, and report better.

The Role

You will work as a journalist, not a content writer.

Indian infrastructure is being built at a scale that is barely being covered well. The technical press covers specifications. The business press covers balance sheets. Almost nobody covers how a project is actually delivered, what went wrong in month fourteen, and who made the call. That gap is your beat.

What You Will Do

- Research and pitch stories from the AEC and infrastructure sector: project case studies, regulatory shifts, financing structures, people profiles
- Prep and conduct interviews with project leaders, contractors, consultants, and our instructor bench
- Write long form articles for the weekly Bridging Room publication (1000 to 2000 words)
- Build episode briefs, question sets, and research packs for the Bridging Room Podcast
- Turn recorded episodes into written recaps, show notes, timestamps, and social cutdowns
- Fact check technical claims, project costs, contract references, and public data before publication
- Maintain a running story bank and source list

Who This Is For

You are probably a journalism, mass communication, or literature student, or an early career reporter who wants a real beat instead of a rewrite desk.



An engineering or architecture background with strong writing is equally welcome.

You should be comfortable calling a stranger, asking the follow up question they were not expecting, and filing 1500 clean words on deadline.

What We Need

- Robust written English. Clear, direct, no filler
- Basic interviewing ability and the discipline to prepare properly for one
- Curiosity about how physical things get built and why projects run late
- Comfort with technical subject matter and the care to get terminology right
- Two or three writing samples, published or not

Useful, Not Essential

- Familiarity with construction, infrastructure, or real estate
- Basic video or audio editing (Premiere,Descript)
- Experience publishing on LinkedIn or a newsletter platform
- Photography

Logistics

Duration: 3/ 6 months

Commitment: 20 to 25 hours per week

Location: Remote, with periodic travel to shoots and site visits

Stipend: ₹15,000 per month

Start: August 31st 2026
