The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and precise Khakha Artist (Hand-Drawn &

- CAD) to serve as the structural backbone of our embroidery and surface ornamentation process. You will bridge the gap between historical artistry and modern precision by translating intricate, royal motifs into flawless tracing templates. By utilizing both traditional hand-drawing methods and digital CAD software, you will ensure that the essence of our Rajputi heritage is accurately and efficiently transferred onto luxury fabrics for our karigars.

Key Responsibilities

- Digital Pattern Making (CAD): Digitize traditional motifs, engineer exact embroidery placements, and create perfectly scaled layouts for garment panels using design software (e.g., CorelDRAW, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator).
- Precision Hand-Drawing &
- Pinning: Create immaculate, hand-pricked butter paper stencils (khakha) from digital prints or hand-drawn sketches for complex and delicate embroidery designs.
- Fabric Transfer (Chhapai): Flawlessly transfer patterns onto a variety of delicate luxury fabrics (including pure silks, organzas, and tissue) using traditional chalk powder or neel paste, without damaging the textile.
- Design Collaboration &
- Scaling:



Work directly with the design team to adapt traditional motifs for various garment sizes and silhouettes (lehengas, poshaks, odhnis) to ensure a seamless flow of embroidery.
- Motif Mastery: Maintain historical accuracy and proportional balance for traditional Rajasthani embroidery styles, specifically preparing layouts for gota patti, zardozi, and hand-weaving.
- Archive Management: Carefully catalogue and maintain both a physical library of traditional khakhas and a categorized digital database of CAD design files for repeat client orders and future collections.

What We Are Looking For

- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated experience as a Khakha maker, textile draftsperson, or pattern artist, specifically within luxury fashion, couture, or high-end heritage brands.
- Dual Expertise: Absolute mastery of traditional hand-drawing and pin-pricking techniques, paired with strong proficiency in CAD software for textile and embroidery drafting.
- Cultural Fluency: A deep appreciation for—and preferably knowledge of—Rajasthani textiles, Rajputi culture, and traditional Indian craftsmanship.
- Attention to Detail: An uncompromising eye for alignment, symmetry, and scale across both digital screens and physical stencils.
- Team Synergy: Ability to collaborate seamlessly with master artisans, designers, and a passionate creative team.
